Concept Equipment

We had been looking for a long time to upgrade out cooling in our office with was originally a large high-ceiling enclosed sunroom. When we bough the house a few years ago there was a 20 year old through the wall unit that has been on its last legs and was not doing the job.
After searching high and low for a company that could help us with the selection and installation, we found Concept Equipment, both on the FriedrIch AC website and on Angies List. Jerry from Concept Equipment was excellent, responsive, professional and knew his business. Through discussions with him, he pointed out that the series of A/C I was originally looking at would not be appropriate for our office and further pointed out that given the 10 foot height of the A/C installation that the heating component would not work well because of the heat-rising effect.
Through back and forth we identified the correct unit and we purchased the unit over the phone. For installation, they have a carpenter that does these installations full time, Colm.
On the agreed date and time, Colm picked up the air conditioner from Concept Equipment and came to the house for installation. The installation was complicated by a short overhanging roof that could have interfered with unit installation and a wasps nest that he found in our walls (we had no idea) and removed! Either one could have been a show stopper, but Colm persisted and did a superb job of installation.
For the first time we can adequately cool our office, even in the hottest days.
Kudos to Concept Equipment for a super job.

Overall, we were reasonably satisfied. The one delay in the process was that they were quite busy and since our calls weren't returned, we had to call them several times before reaching the person we needed to. Their prices seem to be fair and the installation was punctual and satisfactory. We were unpleasantly surprised that the unit chosen didn't cool our apartment all the way down to 70 degrees during a heat wave (it got as far as 74), but they claimed that these units can only accomplish so much when it's 90+ degrees outside, and we accepted that explanation .

The service installers from Concept Equipment were great. They came early, were very professional, moved the equipment without making any mess, installed the new unit in very short order and were a delight to work with. We would definite use them to replace any of the other GE Zonelines in our building and will recommend them to all of the other owners.

I called, we talked about various options, I went with a slightly bigger unit, with 2000 more BTU, which unfortunately required minor carpentry so new sleeve would fit through the wall in my third floor office. My main contractor handled that. Concept does window installations, but not in the wall, and nothing requiring new construction. All the folks I've talked to there, in person and over the phone, have been solid. They have honored all previous warranties on various units.

Very easy transaction. I called to try to figure out how to install a thru-the-wall air conditioner for my house. It was late in the day, but Jerry stuck around, gave me the advice I needed, checked on the availability and called me right back (5 minutes later). I called other dealers as well, but Concept had the best price and the quickest delivery time estimate as well as being really easy to talk to. He didn't try to pressure me into taking something I didn't really want, he simply did what it took to get me the exact model that we determined would be best (which my builder confirmed). To top it off, the unit came in a little early in spite of the fact that this all took place during Christmas week!
