+ -1 morePoor management. Had to wait for driver said for ten showed up at 1134. Waste my time and money cause still had to pay my crew to stand around and do nothing. Only got excuses from Zack. Never will inise again. I had to eat the cost of the time wasted.
Description of Work: Pouring a new foundation for a home with the expense of a concrete pump.

replacement windows
+ -1 moreFantastic, even 'bumped' their schedule, to accommodate my wife who was pregnant. Totally trustworthy, and cleaned up after they were done. They spent a lot of time on each window, and did not charge us any extra - through no fault of their own. Promt & responsive.
Description of Work: Replaced 15 of my windows, old windows were from the 1980's.

+ -1 moreConstruction work quality was very poor overall; cut many corners and used cheap materials. 3 months after installation, 2 doors they installed broke at the hinges. The doors were prepped and cut incorrectly. Shelves were installed un-level - both the horizontal and vertical sections. Installed adjustable shelves in closet and instead of cutting the rails to size, they cut out the trim and installed the rails in the trim work. In addition, the carpentry was poor so that the corners did not align with the wall of the shelves. When this was brought to their attention, they used plaster to fill in the gaps and then plastered the shelves to wall instead of making an appropriately sized shelf. Charged $3k for a cabinet build and install that was made of plywood where the shelves don't hold the weight because the wood is too soft. Also made plywood doors with cut edges showing. Doors were not installed level. Left the job without completion of punch list. Did not protect the house - damaged wood floors, walls and furniture. Did not partition off work areas in plastic so very messy. Overall, horrible experience that cost us a lot of money to correct. Hathaway only agreed to give $1000 back in return, which nowhere near covered the cost to repair the work.
Description of Work: Build and installed new cabinet, covered popcorn ceilings, changed a walk-in closet to a walk through closet, made and installed shelving, installed new interior doors and hardware, expanded closet, exposed ceiling joists, removed wall of cabinets.

Description of Work: A year ago I had an addition to my house (22ft. x 22ft.) done by a general contractor Fred Ryan of Hathaway Construction Company, Wilmington, MA 01887. I got 3 quotes for the job, and chose this company as they were local contractors. I was so pleased with their work and professionalism that I have contracted them again to finish my basement playroom/studio which was destroyed in the March floods. Again, Fred and his employees have exhibited the same qualities which drew me to them in the first place when they came to give me a quote on the job. The quality of work by Fred and his subcontractors, timing of work schedules, price, communication with me and town inspectors, and cleanliness was outstanding. Not one inspection was held up or failed. I felt very comfortable with these men in my home. I have actually hired some of the subcontractors to come back and do extra work for me (heating/air conditioning, plumber, and painter). People lament over how difficult construction is - Not Me!
