 + -1 moreArt is the type of contractor that is becoming an endangered species. He is honest and takes great pride in his work, with exacting attention to detail. Also, he works with excellent designers. In addition to having been in disrepair, our kitchen is very small and the new design has given us more counter and storage space than we imagined would be possible. Our kitchen was a disaster zone and is now a work of Art. A word of advice: If you're new (as we were) to remodeling, start with the smaller job. We happened to start with the bathroom which turned out to be great preparation for the infinitely more complex kitchen work.
Description of Work: Complete renovation of bathroom 1 year ago. Included replacement of toilet, bathtub, sink, countertop & all fixtures & hardware. Installation of shower and heavy-duty shower door. Restoration of existing cabinets. Tiling shower/bath walls. Final cost was below estimate. Complete gutting (ceiling, walls, floor & sub-flooring) of the kitchen. Rebuilt kitchen from scratch. My guess is that the final cost would have been very close to the estimate, but we opted for numerous upgrades as we watched the job evolve, which of course added to the expense. The $55,000 figure above is the total for both bathroom & kitchen.
