Don’t use these guys. You will regret it. They do shoddy work and won’t show back up to repair the lousy work they’ve done. Owner (Matt Thouin) won’t return calls. But when he is trying to get your work he’ll tell you anything. Beware!

"[Member Name Removed] There is no shoddy or lousy work. Unfortunately you have a few cracks in the concrete (concrete cracks ) it’s in the contract . The wall repair needed some attention. I agree there might be some small / minor repairs needed. Feel free to post photos (realistic ) of complete look of decorative concrete . I am open to meet in person. Thank you"

This is a follow up to our earlier review. We took spartan Concrete, spartan bobcat and concrete, or whatever name Matthew Thouin is using for his stamped concrete business to court and won our case. Matthew Thouin has not paid the judgement ordered by the court. We continue to attempt to collect our judgement ordered by the court.

"Spartan concrete services inc is our legal name.Here is my response with respect to the customer and future customers. Trip hazard to driveway: This is false due to the fact that your driveway is 20-30 years old and has heaved and has potholes,this was discussed and understood between both parties. Scratches and holes on concrete: scratches can come from scraping and chipping from snow and ice removal,also holes can come from using pet safe ice melter that says its safe for concrete. Siding: We repainted your front door and trim and your back door also.Your siding is aluminum and 30 plus years old. Partial replacement in rear: We replaced (2) not 100 percent if it was more small concrete pads.If your other existing concrete pads have a pitch issue that will cause water to run in the wrong direction. Different colors: Yes the walkway had to be removed and the stairs stayed.I have proven through paperwork from the concrete supplier that both concrete placements had the same specs/colors used and we explained the sealer needs to dull down, concrete needs time to cure. Slippery concrete: When applying cure n seal 25 we use a gator grip additive that is approved by the govt to prevent slippery conditions.We explained it can still pose slippery conditions until wore down. I am small family business owner and i take pride in my company and customers.I am human and not perfect. This is simply a case where i cannot and never will make you happy.There fore you look to bash and try to destroy my name on social media."

Well. Polite and punctual. It was expensive but good quality. Slight difference between appraisal and work done but they were very accommodating when I brought it up.

Matt and his crew were professional, punctual and the crew offered great suggestions. Matt was very responsive with any issues that we had concerns about. I would hire them again for future projects.

Worst most unprofessional company to work with and most terrible job ever! The pitch of the sidewalk was directed toward the stairs leaving a huge puddle at the bottom of the stairs. When I finally got Spartan/Matt to come remedy the situation the repair work was even worse. No attempt was even made to match the existing rock pattern, the pitch was still incorrect, the step is 5" on one side and 6" on the other, my yard was dug up with tractor tracks, they even ruined my own hose and sprayer, got concrete on my newly painted front door! Matt Thioun who was the representative I was dealing with would say one thing and had little to no follow through. He had difficulty with the truth on many occasions. Please use another company, I would hate for anyone else to go through what I did. UPDATE: Yes, after the third and most horrible failed attempt to fix the botched job my husband and I decided to not let Matthew and his workers back onto our property because every time they came onto our property something else on our home got broken. i.e. the doors got concrete all over them, the front lawn now has tractor marks across it, our siding now has concrete on it forever. It felt like three times was plenty to give his company Spartan Bobcat and Concrete, Inc/Spartan Concrete Inc to first do the job, and second and third repair the job. I did absolutely tell Matthew to not return to the job site. the job was so awful, there was no light at the end of the tunnel. I'm not sure why he is acting surprised that at that point I requested a refund? Matthew Thouin brought up going in front of a "clerk magistrate" months earlier when he was screaming at me about the top of the landing stain. He brought up legal action early in our working relationship, like a hothead that he is, which was in complete disagreement with our contract. Matthew Thouin basically makes up his own rules, contracts, laws, oh, here's a good one, I live on a dead end street and one Monday morning he double parked his own truck next to his workers truck and blocked all my neighbors into the end of the street so NOONE could get out to get to work at 7:45!!!! OMG they were livid. AND Matthew was actually put out that he had to move his truck! Please read the other reviews. Two other reviews say that they did not get what they were promised by the appraiser until they CAUGHT SPARTAN in the act and had to BABYSIT SpARTAN CONCRETE INC. to be sure they got what they were promised. This is known as Bait and Switch! It has not happened to three of us! Stop the madness!

"We have had communication on all occasions.Unfortunately a issue with a water pitch problem happened.The customer and i agreed to let us come out and remove and replace area.The customer later in the evening text my personal cell and emailed us not to return and demanded all there $ back,i was told that hey will go away quietly and that her family was all lawyers. The front door is not ruined,the front yard has very minor track marks.Hose was never used.I have been harrassed and threatened and would like nothing more to finish and resolve.Example: I was cold by [Member Name Removed] and her husband[Member Name Removed] on a friday at 530 pm stating a emergency. Matt this flower pot needs to be moved back to its original spot its to heavy.[Member Name Removed] how heavy is this?Its really heavy.Her husband agreed for us to come on a saturday. My brother went there, the pot weighed 5lbs and she requested we move this over 3 inches."

Patio is beautiful and the job went very smoothly. They are nice people to deal with and take great pride in the work they do. We will use them again when we replace old cement walk ways in the front of our home.

The end result was first rate. The site prep process was painful due to the lack of communication regarding the job specifications between Matt, the estimator, and his work crew. The pad depth was initially too shallow, based on what was discussed an quoted, and had to be made deeper. Additionally, the crew initially brought in and quot;hardpackand quot; for the base when the quote explicitly specified stone. It was a good thing that we were home to catch the issues before they became permanent!

I contacted Spartan via an ad and met with the owner Matt a few days later. He was prompt, friendly and professional. I told him what we were looking to have done and he gave me some great feedback and suggestions without being condescending and they actually made the project better without added too much more to the cost. I advised him that I had to have this done soon and he said that his crew could get it done in one day (yeah right). Well they pulled it off. The crew showed up Wednesday morning @ 7:45 and the last 2 left after 6:30pm. The crew was made up of the nicest most respectful guys, no swearing or goofing off. I bought them pizza for lunch (secretly negotiated by their boss) and they thanked me profusely. I can say that it was a rare and wonderful experience and would highly recommend and hire Spartan again.

He is great. He shows up, does what he needs to do and the lawn is immaculate when he leaves, like he had never even been here. He is friendly. He is a nice guy.
