Mason Woods

Tony Mason is a  craftsman, an artisan in the finest sense of the word.  A precision custom cabinet maker .  My wife and I have been woodworkers for over 20 years until we were forced to retire, so we knew exactly what we wanted in the renovated kitchen in our Victorian carriage house.  From the very first contact, Tony was knowledgeable, professional and patient.  We had our plans fairly well drawn out and he had several valuable suggestions that actually satisfied our desired end even better.  We wanted the cabinets made from huge walnut trees from our property that had blown down in various hurricanes.  He took the rough sawed planks, kilned them to the proper dryness, and dressed them out.  He then made up the structural plywood in his shop and constructed the cabinet parts.  One suggestion of his was to keep to a basic, simple Shaker style design to show off the beautiful graining he found in the wood.  He then bookmatched every door, draw front and panel. On several shelves he made use of the full width of a log, incorporating the natural, organic edges.  His joinery is fantastic, precise to a degree I never could achieve.  His price was extremely fair, especially considering the quality of his work, and the time and patience he spent with us.  Having been in the business, we were very exacting and picky about what we wanted.  Tony gave us a kitchen that exceeded our expectations and gave us the dream kitchen we wanted.
