MARDEK COMPUTER SVC

I sent my printer to Mardek as they were located far from my home. Mailed $25 for diagnosis. Waited a while before they contacted me to let me know they even got my printer. Finally, Kevin called me to let me know what the issue was. He convinced me that he could rectify the problem, especially since my printer was no longer being offered from Epson. I asked him if purchasing a new printer was a better option. He sold me on the idea of him correcting the problem. He charged me $332.25 and when I got my printer back it wasn't even printing color, just blocks of lines. It never printed correctly even after cleaning nozzle etc. I told him, I was livid. He wanted me to drive to Massachusetts, I live in NH, and REALLY fix the problem. It would have been a huge inconvenience for me. He felt that he corrected the problem and was printing fine at his company, and something happened to my printer en route. I say BS. He never offered a refund. I feel like he has my hard earned money for absolutely no reason. He should have drove up to NH if anything. What a terrible disappointment.

Everything went fine. They did a good job overall.

Printer wouldn't function; all three front panel lights were blinking. Took it to an office equipment sales and service place nearby; they said the motherboard needed replacement. As this was the most expensive possible repair, I was skeptical; so took the printer back and went with it to Mardek, which was much further away from my home. Mardek specializes in Epson printers. Because the drive there was so long, I asked if they could do the repair while I waited, and they agreed. I read a book outside for about an hour while they did the repair. Turned out the problem was with the motor that drives the printer head back and forth, which they replaced. The motherboard diagnosis was wrong. I thought that the price of the repair was fair; $125 is about the least one can expect to pay for a computer/printer repair. So, because they 1) diagnosed the problem correctly 2) fixed the printer at a reasonable cost, and 3) did it while I waited (most places probably wouldn't have agreed to that), I give Mardek a top rating.
