Great experience, beginning to end.

Went into the store on Friday, April 24 and picked out a carpet sample we liked (which they let us take home to confirm the color we preferred). All pricing was per sq.ft. and included the carpet, pad and installation, so that allowed us to calculate a ballpark figure and we knew what to expect when they came out to measure and give the official price, which happened the following Tuesday.

They warrantied the installation for as long as we're the homeowners and the pricing was middle of the pack compared to quotes we had received from Home Depot ($1500) and Harrys Carpet One ($2800), so we were happy to move forward based on the reviews on Angies List and from others.

We were able to have them out to install TWO days after their visit and the installers they used (a team of two from Kingston) were very friendly and did a great job with the installation and ensuing clean up. We were surprised that there was no selection of the padding since that was a part of the sales pitch from the other two quotes, but the end result looks fantastic and is extremely comfortable so we are ecstatic with the end result and the whole experience.

I walked into General flooring late January 2015 with quotes from local competitors from neighboring towns. They have a vast store with tile, wood, stone and carpet flooring options. I spoke to David, the owner, and explained him my requirement of installing a stair runner in my home. I was more interested in giving my business to a local establishment and iterated that thought to David. He helped me in walking through the carpets/style that fit my budget and I picked one of the many offering available in the store. The price that he gave me for the material and installation was mind boggling. Not only did he beat the other quotes, he simply blew them out of the water! The installation was scheduled for Feb 18.
Week before the installation, I had called Dave to check if we were still good on the dates, due to the fact that we had many nasty snow storms mid Jan through Feb. Dave said we were good for the scheduled install.
On the day of the install, Mike, the installer showed up on schedule and on time. He was a fourth generation carpet installer. Mike was very accommodating of my request to install the stair runner per my liking instead of their standard way of doing things. The underlayment padding used appeared to be of good quality and the installation was also great. The end result was a stunning stairway and a very happy customer.
Well done team General flooring. I will definitely use and strongly recommend General Flooring of Weymouth for future flooring project.

Very well: on time and well done.

There were two surprises, neither very important. First, the original subfloor was too well glued in place and couldn't be removed. The new subfloor overlay raised the finished floor to the extent that adjoining doors needed their bottoms raised (by others). Also, the old house has no kitchen baseboard, so the new flooring needed caulking where it met walls and cabinets (also by others).

They were easy to deal with when we were picking out the tiles. They came and did what they said they would do and did a nice job. I don't remember in particular if there are things that they should improve on. The price seems fair because we did not compare prices.

After looking at a number of installers, including a few on Angie's list, we ended up at General Flooring at the recommendation of my electrician.
We walked in and were greeted by a very friendly staff. We explained that we wanted whole house carpet as we were expecting a new baby and needed to get rid of the nasty carpet we had. We told them our budget and began looking around. One difference right off the bat was that the prices they showed per square foot was all inclusive. It included delivery, pad, removal and all labor. This was refreshing. When we had gone to others it was a square foot price plus all the extras.
We took home a sample board and the next day someone came out to measure. It was very quick and we made our decision. Another great thing is that they use 15' carpets so I would have no seams in any room. We went with 2 colors and we were set for install. They took 1/2 up front with the remained due upon completion.
The day of the install they were on time and very friendly and professional. They moved all the furniture quickly and without hitting any walls. Install went flawlessly. Would recommend in a heartbeat.

We hired General Flooring to install vinyl sheet flooring to our large kitchen. The original estimate was for $5000 which included
tearing up the previous flooring and installing new underlayment for the new vinyl. The installer arrived, checked the floor and told me that the previous flooring was installed directly on the subfloor and that he would lay the new floor on top of that. I later discovered that he was in error and that,in fact, the previous floor had been installed on top of the house's original flooring and had been laid on a plywood underlayment. Because of the installers error and because less work was required by not tearing up the old flooring, the company offered to reduce the cost of the work by a thousand dollars. I thought this was a fair offer and accepted it. The installer did an exceptional job laying the vinyl flooring and we are completely satisfied with the work and the integrity of General Flooring. I would not hesitate doing business again with this very reputable company.

We had a great experience with them. Their price was very reasonable. They were a resource for us in terms of recommending material. We had an issue with water in the basement so they leveled the floor, recommended the material, and installed the flooring. They came exactly when they said they would come and did the job in the time that they said they could do it. They also followed-up with us after that. They were very professional and walked us through the process. They pulled us down when they needed us but did the job without our part and made sure we were happy before they left. They were an alternative; we had gone to another store and we were not happy with the service we got from them but General Flooring Co was nice.

I was looking to have some new flooring installed in 1 unit of a 2 family house that would become a rental once I moved into a new house. After reading good reviews on Angie's list, my wife and I went to the showroom and spoke to Dave. He was very helpful, and helped us choose the carpet and vinyl we would have installed. He was able to schedule the measuring for that afternoon. We met Bill at the house a short time later, andhe measured everything and gave us a price. The work was scheduled for 2 weeks later, and took 3 days. The first day was removal of the old linoleum and subfloor, and installation of a new plywood subfloor. The second day was for installation of the new vinyl flooring. The third day they handled removal of the old carpeting in the bedrooms, and installation of new carpet. Everyone who we worked with was friendly and hard working. We were very happy with the results, and have since re-hired them to do carpet at our new house.

The gentleman who came out for an estimate was great. He made sure we discussed all details including which direction the flooring would be laid. He was very knowledgable about the options of flooring for this room. This made our decision easier because we really understood what would work best in this basement level room. The installer was excellent he worked at a good pace and was very professional. We would recommend General Flooring and would use them again for future projects.

The first time we did the vinyl plank flooring the stains started coming up the following year so we did have a problem with it. We called General Flooring, they got a hold of the manufacturer and they put in a new floor. They were very responsive and made sure I was happy.

The floor installation was started and finished as promised. They were very precise and meticulous in getting the job done. They called us afterward and asked if we were satisfied. We told him there were a few bubbles in the vinyl floor and Bob came out again without hesitation to assess the problem. He said the bubbles would go away in a short time, which they did. He told us to call if there is any future problem, which there have been none. Bob Johnson was a very pleasant and professional person to deal with. We would recommend him for any flooring installation work.

THE INSTALLATION WAS GOOD BUT NOT EXCELLENT, THERE WAS ONE SEAM THAT WE HAD A PROBLEM WITH. THE CARPET APPEARS TO BE DURABLE FOR A MID LEVEL PRICED CARPET. OVERALL THEY WERE OK.
