Cornerstone Chimney

I would avoid using Jay as he doesnâ t guarantee his work even though it says right on his website that he does. He came to my Cohasset home on 11/11. I paid him cash for a half hour of work. He broke my flue, took his payment and hasnâ t returned any calls, texts or emails from me or my girlfriend who was also an existing customer at her prior home. I was an existing customer but would recommend if you want to avoid headaches and the costs to fix what he breaks, do yourself the favor of finding someone else. It is now 11/23 and he still has not responded to us, and keeps taking my girlfriends reviews on Google down claiming he never did work for us even though we have the receipt as proof!

My boyfriend Jeff Kripke and I hired Jay Costello to clean our chimney on 11/11 in our Cohasset home. He charged us $249 for a half hour of work and we paid in cash. Two days later we went to open our flue to have a fire and debris poured out making a huge mess and he damper would not close. Jeff sent Jay a text and email that night asking him to come fix it. No response. The next 5 days we tried calling, emailing and texting to see if he would come to fix it. No response to either of us. I then decided to leave a Google review and within 20 minutes he responded saying he never came to my house and I had the wrong Cornerstone chimney! He doesnâ t know my name because my name wasnâ t on the service call but I answered the door to let him in and I live there!!! I have every right to call and try to get him to come back. He had my review deleted. Jeff then left a Google review which Jay responded to saying he wasnâ t in his database - yes your database will have Jeff Kripke from Holly Lane. My question is why when you perform a service at someoneâ s home do you refuse to return calls, texts and emails from the customer who is dissatisfied with your work? We gave you a week to respond and try to fix the problem and you just ghosted us and then have the nerve to tell us you never did the work at our home!! He have the invoice with your name on it! We have now opened a case with the better business bureau. We had to pay another service to come back and fix your shoddy work. Leaving a review here since Jay is having our reviews removed from Google and claiming we are fake! Unbelievable

Jay will return to do some chimney work, pointing etc. will give more extensive review at that time. Pleased so far.

Jay was very polite and after taking a look at the interior of my fireplace he realized it had only been used maybe 5-10 times before us and it did not warrant a full cleaning. He then adjusted the price accordingly for just the inspection. I appreciated his honesty and will be having him back in the Spring to do some slight repair work on the exterior of the fireplace.

Jay was on time and friendly. Very professional about his work and knows what he's talking about. You can tell he cares about his customers and does great work. Win win!
