Gary Kellner made a thorough walk around the house and environs to search for mold. He took air and swab samples in basement and two floors. Job was done in three hours. He sent in his measures to a reputable lab and then wrote me a full letter explaining the findings within days. I have small amounts of mold but always less than that outside. I will correct conditions. The analysis greatly relieves me and my wife.

We were recommended to Harvard Environmental by our realtor. We called them in a classic “first time homeowner DIY project panic” state of mind, and before even talking about scheduling a visit, they took some time to explain likely risks and soothe our nerves. A comprehensive inspection was performed and a similarly comprehensive report was delivered. Harvard Environmental then took time to explain each type of lead hazard present in our home, and helped us find a contractor to assist in the removal and remediation. Their attention to detail and responsiveness were very appreciated by two frazzled homeowners, and we very much recommend their services!

I must say that I am very glad to have dealt with you (Vendy Tran, lead inspector) and Harvard Environmental Services. You have shown to be very efficient and knowledgeable. Furthermore, your recommended contractor (Jacques Akelian of Precision Lead Paint Solutions) proved to be the best out of about 10 contractors I initially contacted last week. When I first embarked on the quest to get this done, everyone I contacted told me my deadline was impossible. However, your team and your resources have made this a seamless process in contrary to the horror stories I heard from others about deleading. as you know, there is a homeless family that was heavily depending on your ability to make this happen within the required time. Thank you so very much! I understand you have gone above and beyond your call of duty with this one!

Gary was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Provided extra advice and contacts to reach out to specific to our situation. Was able to rush swipe test results even though it meant more work for him. Since taking the moderate risk training course, Harvard Environmental/Gary have gone above and beyond sending out updates as regulations change. We are very happy with them and will be using them again in the future

The inspection went well and very professional. It took about an hour. Gary checked out very carefully and spot checking many area where the walls will be subject to demolished. He also took a lot of time to explain to me the process and what I should ask the contractor to perform during the renovations.

Gary came highly recommended from an Inspector who does not offer Lead Paint Inspection services. Gary was extremely responsive to our initial inquiry and was flexible as we had to re-schedule the date/time, and needed him to do part of the house one day and the rest of the house another day. Gary patiently explained the results to us in person, along with different options to de-lead, and provided an expedited PDF report since we were under a time crunch. He also promised to send us a list of Contractors the next day, and delivered on that promise. I would definitely recommend Gary.

Overall we had a very good experience with Gary's team at Harvard Environmental. They are extremely responsive, and they came and did the lead inspection very soon after we called - very important to us since we wanted to get a lease signed and needed the compliance letter. Our inspector was Gary Marciello (not to be confused with the owner, another Gary). He came when he said he would and did the inspection. They found a single exterior window frame with lead. He gave me good advice about how to delead (we could have done it ourselves after getting certified by MA but we were in a time crunch so we hired people to do it). There was some disagreement with the deleaders over what they had to do in terms of cleaning, so we ended up having to have Gary come out twice. Our fees were $350 initial lead inspection, then $450 for the reinspection and $100 for having to come out twice.
All the communication with Harvard Environmental was great - they talked me through various options, they were great about calling back and scheduling, etc. Gary Marciello was also great, though there was some inaccuracy in regards to when he was going to show up (i.e. he said he'd come at a certain time and then would call back and revise, in some cases off by hours) and also as to when we'd get the letter of compliance. All in all, not a big deal and we were happy with their service.

Gary was very professional and thorough. The inspection was easy to schedule and occurred at the same time as our home inspection, which was not a problem, as Gary did his lead testing solo while we were able to walk around with the home inspector. After our home inspection was done, Gary then walked around the house with us and explained the results of his tests. His official report was delivered within a few days after the lead tests. While the official report is difficult to interpret by the lay person, the lead paint abatement contractors that we later contacted to perform the lead removal had no issues interpreting Gary's test results. Would use again without question.

We were pretty freaked out when our son tested positive for elevated lead. We wanted to get ahead of anything we might be mandated to fix, and I was a wreck not knowing what in my home was poisoning my son. Gary was fantastic. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable about lead, but he clearly loves old homes he was able to come right away and was incredibly thorough. The whole time he explained what he was finding and what needed to be done to meet remediation standards. After the inspection he took time to answer all our questions and gave us his number in case we had more. I could not be happier with his services

Was very thorough and professional, I like that he just does the inspection and doesn't have conflict of interest of doing repairs as well. Contacted easily and no problems scheduling. Nice guy, did inspection same time as home inspection of a 1930s house so I was worried it would be bad. Tested every inch of house, and then walked me through the problem areas at the end after a few hours, much better then I expected the problem areas. Only reason I gave a B on quality was that the formal report was all handwritten on standard sheets and a little hard to read as it was filled out on multiple pages, but I received by email about 48-72 hours alter so that was convenient. Overall, I felt he answered all my questions, did a thorough job. Gave me potential people to do necessary repairs. Would use again without question.

Gary was professional, punctual, and above all knowledgeable and thorough. He worked methodically to test all surfaces, both interior and exterior, of my home for lead. I appreciated not only how detailed he was in his work, but also how willing he was to answer all my questions. I learned quite a bit just from speaking with him, and it was clear that he cares about his work. I would highly recommend Gary to anyone who is considering lead abatement and wishes to determine if lead is present in their home. I plan to hire him again to perform testing once I have lead abatement work completed.
