When our plumbing backed up and wouldn't drain the plumber we called advised us that the first thing we should do was get our septic pumped. The only business that responded to our calls was Village Septic. They recommended we locate the tank ourselves to keep the cost down, but after digging holes all over the back yard and not finding it (neither did a metal detector) we were stumped. We pleaded with them to come back and find it for us, so they followed the pipe from the house and were able to successfully find and empty the tank. It turned out that some of the pipe was old collapsed orangeburg from the 50's and included a sharp bend so we were advised to replace the line with more gently curving PVC, which we did. This part of the job took longer to complete but once our plumbing was working, which was taken care of promptly, we did not care. By the time the job was done our plumbing was working, new pipe installed, and the soil put neatly back in place. Village Septic will definitely be our go-to folks if we have trouble in the future.
