We contracted with Almeidas General Contractors to build an addition to our single family home in Provincetown, This included a new kitchen, master bedroom, halls, and laundry area. Within a week of completion, an area of the kitchen pine floor stained and buckled due to interior water damage, our heating contractor confirmed Almeida had not installed a heating duct to our new bedroom as contracted, unsightly wood knots broke through our freshly painted walls, and we had a number of other problems including a significant floor dip where the new addition meets the existing structure, lack of proper floor joists and framing, improper plumbing hookups, etc. Almeidas has been unwilling to satisfactorily resolve or reimburse us for these problems and they were recently forced to respond to corrections cited by our local Building Dept. We do not recommend them for any size construction, repair, or remodeling project.
