 + -1 moreKATHY HALLEY, a real estate agent of Hammond Residential Real Estate, represented the buyers of our condo. We had many offers, but the top offers were offering the same price. Ultimately, we agreed on an offer made by a couple who wrote a heartfelt letter about how they were high school sweethearts who had been doing long distance and were getting married. Their offer was not the most attractive, but we wanted to leave our home in goods hands and preferred to sell to a family who would live there and not investors. They said they wanted to make this place their first home and looked forward to sharing many happy memories in this home like we had. All lies. We certainly would have considered their offer seriously even if they had been upfront about their intentions. But the lengths they went to deceive us and manipulate us is VERY disturbing and downright wrong. They researched us well and created a fake story so that we would be emotionally drawn to them. KATHY HALLEY and her clients carried out the charade until closing date. Scum attracts scum. We had a wonderful, honest real estate agent from William Raveis. She was also shocked and disappointed to find out on closing day when neither the buyers nor KATHY HALLEY showed up for closing (she sent a sub-in real estate agent) that they had lied to us. I would strongly recommend using an agent from William Raveis instead of Hammond Real Estate as this agency seems to condone manipulation and lying. Buyers and real estate agents - discard letters submitted by KATHY HALLEY.
Description of Work: KATHY HALLEY went against the code of ethics of real estate agents by submitting a letter with her offer that her clients were a young couple looking to buy a condo to make their home when in fact they were investors. She and her clients went through this whole charade of pretending to be excited to move into their first home when THEY HAD EVERY INTENTION FROM THE BEGINNING TO BUY FOR INVESTMENT. They went so far as to research my husband and me and concocted a fake story so that we would relate to them. She went to school with the client's parents, who are known real estate investors, so she knew their intentions and knew that they were NOT a young couple looking for their first home. We found all this information and that the property was going to be rented out by the seller's lawyer in closing day. In addition, KATHY HALLEY did not even show up for the closing but had a sub-in! There were issues with our bathroom that we pointed out after the purchase and sale, and I'm pretty sure she did not disclose this to her clients.
