Shestok Bros Inc

I did not hear from Todd all summer, so tried calling him in mid September. I left messages for him every day for a week. The only call he returned was my last one where I told him that I wanted my deposit back, and if he did not provide it promptly that I would pursue legal action against him to get it. When he finally did call me back, he apologized and agreed to return my deposit.

Initially we were quite satisfied.  Upon inspection we noticed the two screen windows damaged in pressure washing the house were not repaired as Todd Shestok said they would be. 
The stain on our front and back porches did not match the color selected and came up over the winter, leaving sections unstained.   When contacted in March he said he'd be over in May to fix it.  It is now almost July and he never returns our calls or has shown up to make the repairs. 
He was a whole lot quicker to respond when he wanted our business and the check.

July 21st Update:  We called two more times this week and still have not heard back from him. 

I spent about $1200 on that service.  Todd Shestok is the owner and he is a top-notch professional.  He has very high integrity, he follows up, and the quality of his work is just excellent.  He is also very flexible and I have actually used him to do some projects that are outside of his typical things that he does, he has done some light carpentry and things like that.  I think for what I get, I would give price an A.  I have used him for the last 4 years.

Our house had lots of minor damage to the exterior; rotted sills, damaged shingles, woodpecker damage, etc.  We wanted this all repaired before the house was painted.  All of the painters we talked with said "no problem", but they were really all painters with a hammer.  Shestock is a company with carpenters and painters, a very big difference.  

From the beginning, this was a highly professional, organized, diligent company.  The carpentry crew spent 3 days going through all the exterior, fixing all the things that have bugged me for 10 years.  The work was very high quality.  They put up with me adding more and more small things every day.  Once this was done, the painting crew came in.  The house was power washed, and then they spent 3 days scraping and priming.  This preparation was very diligent.  My neighbor, who is a contractor, commented to me that he had never seen a crew spend more time prepping a house for painting.  Then two coats of paint and trim.  Over the course of the next 2 weeks we noticed a few tiny things (door hinge not painted, a few drips, etc.).  We called and these were taken care of within 2 days.  My house looks the best it has since I bought it 25 years ago.

We got 4 quotes.  Shestock was close to the highest.  But the work was outstanding. They did everything they said they would do and more.  We would absolutely use them again.

Todd Shestock was very personable.  He came to do our estimate and gave us a detailed, printed copy before he left.  We were hoping to have the work done during the summer, but we experienced a lot of rain that summer.  The job started in September and the last part of it (painting the front door) wasn't done until December.  They seemed to get quite backed up by the rain and our job was fit in in a piece-meal fashion rather than being complete in a few days once they had started.  The work was of high quality and has lasted for several years.

We checked Angie's List and found one positive report. We contacted Shestok and sent them a request for proposal. They responded in a reasonable time with a professional proposal at a reasonable price. We had an important upcoming event and requested that majority of the work be completed by that time (one month away). Todd Shestok, the owner, committed to doing the work on time and delivered on his promise. Todd's work is very professional, and he is very responsive, knowledgable, patient, and pleasant to work with. We are planning to replace all the windows in our house with energy efficient ones and have received an estimate for three levels of replacement (full tear-out and two levels of partial replacement). The estimates compare favorably with other estimates and we have chosen Todd do the work for this substantial expenditure. We highly recommend Shestok Bros.

The work above was over several years, but I made them into a single report for Angie's List when I heard about it. They were excellent to work with, and we have had problems with others, so we know. We are happy to recommend them to everyone. They started as painters, and that is how we used them first. Since they got their contractors license, we had them build decks and replace doors and windows. We wish them well in their business, and are happy to recommend them to anyone!
