Everything was fine. Sewer Works completed the job in a timely, efficient and professional manner - for a reasonable price. I am wondering about poor review from 10/2/18..... This is the only poor review of a company that has consistently provided excellent service. The reviewer reports what the neighbor said happened at his house, not what the reviewer actually experienced, although s/he says that Sewer Works' owner apologized for going to the wrong house, which doesn't sound like a big deal. (I have gotten house numbers wrong a few times.) What exactly is the reviewer expecting? Did the neighbor receive free service? Did Sewer Works eventually provide service to the reviewer, and if so, how was that experience? Shouldn't the reviewer review the service s/he actually received? Just as on Amazon, I am skeptical of 1 bad review among many excellent reviews.

Our septic system was due for emptying so we called the company that did it for us previously, Sewer Works in Westford. While we were happy with the job done 2 years ago, this time was a complete disaster. No one was going to be home on the day of service, but we were told that isn't a problem. I did drive by our street at one point and saw their truck in our driveway so I assumed the job was being done. However, the next morning we were contacted by our next door neighbor who was very angry. Sewer Works went to their house, not ours. He pumped out their system, realizing too late that he was at the wrong house. He apparently pulled out the hose and dragged it out of our neighbor's yard, down their driveway, and onto the street to our house, leaving a long, disgusting trail of waste material. Our neighbor had to hose down everything on his property. One of his dogs even rolled in it before he realized it. We got quite an earful from our neighbor and who can blame him. A phone call to Sewer Works was returned today and the owner gave a very insincere "sorry" and that was it. Absolutely incompetent and unprofessional business. Will never use again.

I was looking for some one in my community to get the septic flushed/pumped. Glad I found Dave. It took a total of 1 week from the time I contacted him till the work was done. I had no clue where the pump/inlet was, but Dave figured it out by himself with no help from anyone. He was to the point and professional. I will be using him in the future for sure and will recommend his services for sure.

Dave was great.  He found the tank on his own and performed the service.  He was very responsive and polite!

Dave had helped us at our prior home and I asked for his help with our new home. We had not yet had these tanks pumped since they were last done when the house was sold. We dug what we thought was the cap to access the tanks. Upon arrival Dave helped to locate the correct access point. He explained what he needed to do and answered all my questions. He even taught me a little about how the system works and how we should maintain it. He's very knowledgable and honest.

Rep came when promised, found our septic entry (buried under grass), cleaned it out, provided some valuable insight, and when finished, replaced lawn so that it looked like he was never there! Excellent!

Excellent, Dave was very professional and trustworthy.  He called to explain the process and the options and steps I needed to take.  No hidden charges, everything was as he said it would be.

As a fairly new homeowner, this was my first time having my septic tank pumped.  I found Sewerworks on the internet and gave them a call.  David Chandler, the owner, answered the phone and scheduled an appointment for the same week.  He showed up in person right on time, and seemed to have a sixth sense locating the buried tank cover.  Never having pumped this tank before, I only had a general idea where the tank was, but David found the cover on the first try.
Pumping was quick and easy and left no mess, and David was very professional throughout the process.  I am recommending Sewer Works to my local family.

My initial interactions with the company were fine, but when the provider came to our house to pump the septic tank, things went a bit wrong. The provider apparently did not understand where I told him our septic tank was located; despite pointing out the depression where we knew the septic tank to be, he insisted that it was not there and poked the ground in completely different locations, trying to locate the tank. It really felt to me like he didn't believe me because I was a woman, and his professionalism just went downhill from there. He located what he insisted was the tank in a very different location from where I had indicated, then complained the entire time he dug about how far down it was. When he finally found a cover (after having dug a trench several feet long and several feet deep in our yard), he realized that he had dug up part of the leech field. In the end, he found the septic tank where I had originally indicated, but he seemed to think that I had indicated an area off to the side of the depression I initially pointed out. By this point (an hour after his arrival), he was frustrated and annoyed. When he got to the septic tank cover, he called me over to point out that it was square and had no handle, speaking to me in a rather accusatory manner, as if it were my fault that the system were designed that way. (He was mostly intending to point out that square holes can easily fall into the tank and tell me that he would do his best with it, but it came out in a rather rude way.) After finally pumping out the tank, he did a very sloppy job of filling in the holes.  We now have 2 very large brown patches in our yard, and we were charged for him digging both holes despite the first being a mistake on his part. What started out as a decent interaction unfortunately ended rather differently. Perhaps he was just having a bad day, but I was disappointed in the lack of professionalism I experienced.
Response from SEWER WORKS
"When a customer has any issue with the service we provided I would expect those concerns brought directly to Sewer Works, as customer satisfaction is important. Sewer Works receives very few complaints and when we do they are responded to seriously. Sewer Works was not aware of any dissatisfaction with this customer until months after the service was provided. Had we known, Sewer Works would of addressed the situation and developed a solution. Through the efforts of Sewer Works using our 35 years experience and knowledge that we eventually found the septic tank and performed the service we were hired to do."

Because they don't go into tanks ( certified for that) they had to dig through to get to the electrical box. Our tank alert was going off and needed to be looked at so I didn't have a lot of time to shop around and they'd done our tittle 5 inspection and pumped the tank. Was happy with the service and responsiveness.

Dave Chandler (owner) provided detailed estimates for the septic system replacement/upgrade. This was completed in a professional and timely manner, with regular updates on progress. There was no variance on the cost from the estimate. He has been very responsive over the years for any problems that arise, being available to be contacted on off hours and resolving the issues promptly.

Dave had a clear plan for excavation and was sensitive to the fact that we are gardeners and wanted to preserve our garden bed material as much as possible. He was also sensitive to the fact that we wanted him to do his best to keep a rock wall that was on the edge of the dig site even though it was not a sturdy wall. He promised to do his best but could not guarantee that it would not fall due to the heavy trucking equipment that would need to be brought in for our system.
Upon digging, Dave found that our existing system was a daisy chain of 4 cespools and not a proper septic system. He discussed the situation with us and was clear about what needed to be done. There were additional charges (reasonable) and an additional 2 days for the project (also very reasonable). He was not phased by the change in project scope and we consistently felt that he was fully capable of handling the project and the result would remove the problematic material and leave us with an up-to-date Title V septic system.
Dave was a hard worker who called in excellent vendors to supply the septic tank and gravel/fill material. He was prompt to arrive early each morning and worked a full day each day (weather permitting). There were never any doubts in our mind that he would do a superb job. It was apparent that he is skilled in septic installation and was very detail-oriented when making sure that all the pipe levels were correct. We are confident that we will not have any problems in the future with our septic installation and that it will serve us well for the next 20-30 years+.
He made good on his promise to save our garden bed material which he had moved aside during the project and then replaced at the end of the project. He was able to keep our unstable rock wall intact despite it being right at the edge of the construction area and the heavy equipment had to pull up right next to it each day. We were very pleased about this. Dave was very careful with digging and directing the trucks so that they would not put undue pressure on the wall.
He left our land in excellent condition with high-quality loam on the top layer ready for us to lay grass seed. He could have taken care of the seeding as well, but we preferred to handle it ourselves. The land was well graded and raked. We had to do very little to prepare the area for seeding and the final result was very pleasing. I would highly recommend Dave Chandler and the Sewer Works company septic services.
