In November, our main sewer drain collapsed. We called in multiple excavators and plumbers and it was a game of hot potato. Each plumber said that the excavator had to get in there first and vice versa. The excavators didn't want the job because it was inside the house but Calvin stepped up. Calvin responded to our initial inquiry promptly and scheduled a time to assess the situation in person. He was up front with us about the potential costs and the fact that you can't tell how much pipe has collapsed until you start digging. He checked in with us whenever additional work was necessary and gave reasonable quotes. All in all, his guys ended up having to break up the concrete in our basement, dig up the pipes, tear down a half bathroom, tunnel under our front porch and excavate about 10ft into our front yard. Calvin remained involved throughout the process and was attentive to our concerns. He provided advice and information that helped us make informed decisions along the way. When our plumber put us off, he found someone to come in on a Saturday to get the pipe laid so we could at least use our shower/toilet/dishwasher/etc. He worked nights and weekends to help us get back to a functioning sewer system. I would highly recommend Calvin and CHB Excavating. Having a collapsed sewer main drain is a vulnerable situation but he gave us fair prices with fast scheduling.
