He rarely answers his phone, never calls back, never sticks to his own timelines, his store lights are on with a lit Open sign, door locked, won't make appointments, won't commit to be in his shop at any given time. Ordered RAM over 3 months age (he said it would be a week), waiting over 3 months for 2 old monitors, never recovered hard drive data, had to have the motherboard replaced a second time. Asked for a large RAM quote for my school 2 months ago, never got back to me.

Initially he fixed the problems I was having, and installed a router so I could access the internet.  A little later I started having problems printing so I tried call him back to work on that.  I called him several times and even made an appointment, that he never actually showed up for.  I called him again and he ended up coming over the next day when he told me he was tied up the day before, but he never called me to let me know, otherwise that would have been fine.  He fixed my printer, or so I thought.  Very soon afterwards it stopped working again and still never called me back after numerous calls on my part.  I ended up calling someone else who found the issue very quickly and fixed it.

The most irking thing is that you can leave messages for him, but he never checks his messages to return them.

very well< he happened to be in the area so he looked at my computer explained the issues took back to his shop called me after a complete diagnoses...and it was ready two days later.

There's no real story here, because Jim will donate 2 minutes of phone time to help out whenever I call.  I've suggested he bill me for the times he's helped over the phone, but he waves the suggestion away.  As a result, I've suggested he run me a tab.
I've recommended him to many people in the area.  I felt lucky finding someone by long distance and having everything work out since then.  No complaints.
