Floors and Decor did a great job!

Jeff was great. very professional. showed up on time, started when he promised to start, and finished when he promised as well.

Jeff Burstein came highly recommended by neighbor and his price for the refinishing seemed fair. I must say that this evaluation is difficult to write because although I was generally satisfied with Jeff, I was not at all satisfied with the sub-contractor? that eventually did my floor. Because the workers neither spoke or understood English Jeff was constantly acting as an intermediary between what was happening. The workers refinished the floor the first time and it was blotchy and poorly done. Jeff interceded with the owner of the refinishing company and both agreed that the floor had to be totally redone. The second time it was refinished it had streaks of unstained wood and had to be re-sanded again. The third try resulted in an acceptable floor BUT it would have been another poor job had I not been constantly directing the workers. I must say that Jeff and the owner of the refinishing company worked hard to deal with the uneven absorption of stain by the pine board but the minute they weren't on site the workers seemed not to care. They splattered stain on the french door units, left stain can rings on my outside steps and left stained foot prints on my porch floor. I would hire Jeff Burstein again but only if the sub-contracted wasn't doing the actual work.

It was great.

I will use them in the future.

The bathroom floors and the carpeting came out beautifully,  The men Jeff sent did an excellent job, and were very professional in how they treated our home, and cleaned up after everything.  The carpeting and pad Jeff recommended are very comfortable and soft to walk on, far superior to any carpeting we have had before.  The vinyl in the bathrooms looks fantastic; we are completely happy with it.

When I bought a new condo and wanted to replace the old carpeting in the bedrooms with engineered hardwood floors, Jeff was extremely helpful.  I wanted formaldehyde-free wood, so Jeff provided samples of formaldehyde-free Mirage engineered hardwood and immediately brought them to the condo.  Because there were existing engineered hardwood floors in the adjoining kitchen and living room, Jeff helped me to choose a coordinating Mirage sample that complimented the existing floors. He considered everything including the thickness of the underlayment to match the height of the existing floors. With his expert advice, I chose a very healthy Whisper Wool underlayment.  Jeff provided information throughout the process and installed the hardwood floors with beautiful results.  When my moving date changed suddenly, Jeff graciously changed the scheduled work date on short notice to fit me into his schedule for an earlier time. Before hiring Jeff, I did get another higher quote from an eco-friendly store for the same products. Not only did Jeff do the job for a better price, but he also provided excellent information and wonderful service from the first phone call to the finished floors.

Jeff promptly provided an estimate promptly after I contacted him. He came out in person to look at the job to provide estimate. His estimate was at or below 2 other quotes I received. We scheduled dates for this 3- day project and was here on time every day. Best of all I was pleased with NO DUST outside of dining room. I highly recommend and would use his service again without hesitation.

They did a nice job. The installation was done well.

He is the best and I recommend him to anyone.  I had a leak and there was a flood and he replaced the wrought within a timely, timely fashion like he could have done it in a couple of days with the original wood.  He put the flooring and it was engineered hardwood so he ripped it apart and put it back in and he added a whole new section of new wood.  The pricing was very fair.  I am happy when I find somebody good because I have been through a lot of problems including Angie’s List.

The contractor was genial and prompt. The floor was laid down generally well and overall the appearance is good. There were some gaps between boards and the finish board next to the slate in the foyer shows a saw overcut and an unfilled gap. A few days after he left I noticed two brush bristles embedded in the polyurethane that I could not remove.  I called and left messages but he never returned my calls. 

The stairs had more serious issues. The risers and the treads were not measured accurately and there were large gaps between risers and treads with the walls, and between risers and treads. It took us four to five days to fill in the gaps with caulking before we could paint.

A spill of wood filler is embedded in the driveway and is still visible. I paid promptly at the end of the job. which left me no recourse. He did install new baseboards, but I paid the additional amount that he requested.

I found them on Angie's List and it was one of the best interactions I have ever had with a contractor. He was very understanding and helpful right from the beginning. Unlike a lot of contractors he called right back after my inquiry and we arranged a time to get together. He came to our house, brought samples and we did not like them. He came back later on and brought more samples; he actually had samples shipped to our house. He never called us without us calling him first for a reason. We talked to him in October and got a few quotes from him. We told him we would get back to him and he never called to check on job status. We reached out to him in late March and he remembered where we left off so we asked him for a few more quotes. He provided them so he was really good. I told him before he left to take measurements on other room so we absolutely are going to use him again.

Jeff Burstein, the owner, was extremely responsive, and got right in touch after I left an inquiry on his voicemail. We had a tight deadline as we were planning to put the house on the market, and Jeff made adjustments in his schedule to accomodate us. He was there right when he said he would be to do the estimate, had his crew there right on time, checked in to make sure things were going well, and when they missed a tiny spot in the upstairs hallway, came back himself to take care of it the next day. He gave me unbiased information to help me determine the type of coating to use, and at no point pushed me toward the more expensive options--he helped me choose the right type of finish, number of coats, etc. for my particulat needs. He and his crew did a great job of cleaning up and disrupting "life" in the house--not easy since they were refinshing the kitchen--the hub of activity in our house, and the upstairs hallway. On top of all that, his price was the best of any of the estimates we were given, even a competitior that had an "Angie's List Special" but had clearly jacked up his prices before discount. I recommend Floors & Decor and Jeff Burstein without reservation--they are the best!

They were wonderful. They came right away, gave me a quote and they were ready to do the job in the time frame I need. They were very clean. There was no dirt or mess left behind. The owner Jeff was very easy to deal with and a very nice fellow.  They were good and I was so happy to find them on Angie’s List. I would highly recommend them.

Jeff was professional / punctual from start to finish. His quote was timely, he showed up exactly when he said he would, and took the time to minimize dust.I would ues / recommend Jeff without hesitation.

Fast work, cleaned up well after himself.  No communication problems.  Personable guy and easy to deal with.
