Yankee Restorations

Rob Duncan from Yankee Restorations came to my house to look at the work to be done within a few days of my contacting him. He provided me with a full and detailed quote just a few days or less later which as anyone knows is half the battle. I decided to sign the contract with Rob and move forward. He had a carpenter, Keith, begin work days later. Keith showed up every day on time and left on time each day. He was respectful, hard-working and kept our home and his work area very clean. Over time additional crew members came to my home to assist with the various other projects. Each member of the crew was respectful and courteous. Working from home can be a challenge while several people are using power tools and working in your home. After almost 2 months of having Yankee Restorations in our home my husband and I are very satisfied with the quality of the work performed. We intend on hiring them again in the near future for additional projects small to large.

The owner of the company, Rob, insists on taking ownership of important details including finish work, which he performs largely by himself. We solicited several reviews for our master bathroom renovation job which involved removing an old fiberglass shower, tearing up the old tile floor then installing a new tile shower, new tile floor, vanity and cleaning/painting walls. Rob responded promptly to quote on the job and at a fair price. More importantly, he gave an accurate estimate of when he would be able to start the work which made coordinating our other bedroom renovation work very efficient. Once he started the job he was on it each day until it was completed, approximately 3 weeks. Rob is very easy to work with and he worked very closely with us to make sure that we were happy with how the work was coming along, very detail oriented. He has a very good relationship with his tile supplier which really facilitated the tile selection and design process (thank you). We would definitely recommend talking with Yankee Restorations for bathroom renovation work, good quality work, no surprises. We are super happy with our new bathroom.

Rob and his staff were excellent!! Very quick response to all details. Always made sure we were pleased as the job went along. We hired Yankee Restorations to install a new front storm door, and replace all the hinges and doorknobs on 15 interior doors. Additionally there were several doors that did not properly close or latch, and Rob's crew addressed those issues. While the original start date estimate slipped by a couple of weeks, the wait was worth it. Rob's crew was punctual, professional and courteous. They did an excellent job of addressing the issues with the interior doors. The new hardware looks great and all the doors now close effortlessly and latch properly. The new storm door looks great and securely latches, something the old door never did. Overall, Yankee Restoration did an outstanding job. Rob's price included all the new hardware, labor, and disposal of the old storm door and hardware from the interior doors. We will definitely be calling Rob in the future when we need any work done around the house.

The final result was both great and more than we had originally planned because, as with the case of dealing with very old homes, the main project often demanded additional ones. Rob did not force these corollary projects but was very helpful in determining the scope and cost of them. Rob's overwhelming attributes are that he cares for old house projects and he is insistent that things are done well. He also helps in finding services needed to finish the job--in our case, a flooring, plumbing, and a stone step contractor. Rob has a solid crew of helpers that, over the span of the project, we got to know well.

Great! Rob did a great job for one of my client when we had a severe time deadline - he did it fast, on budget, and did a great job. Since then, I've given his name to friends and other clients, and they all think he does great work! He's a great resource for a real estate agent such as myself - or any homeowner.

Yankee & I negotiated a new price for the new & much larger project. Work was done on an emergency basis (at Time-and-a-Half rates). on a long Saturday & long Sunday. The house was opened up, via the construction, and I wanted to get it repaired and ready for winter. And Yankee's skilled people would all be consumed on large projects underway. & unavailable for a month. Yankee took photos before, during, and after construction. Yankee's CEO recommended that I file a claim with my Homeowner's insurance, since the problem was unknown (there's a legal term for it) and we discovered it and fixed it. I have just started the claim process and it's looking promising that the insurance will accept my claim and help to offset some of the cost.

After years of wasting time and money with contractors who talked a good game, but did not follow through I was fortunate to find Rob Duncan @ Yankee Restorations. He owns a turnkey company. Rob is very professional and expects excellence from himself and his workers. It is so convenient because Rob has a roofer, painter, carpenters, electrician working for him. They treat your home as if it is theirs. I am on my 3rd year of using him exclusively. His prices are fair and his work is excellent. Rob is responsive to my calls and is willing to work around your schedule.

Yankee Restorations performed better than we could have anticipated and we are now scheduling other projects with them. They not only did great work, but helped guide us through the process of material selection. We felt good leaving them to work in our house without needing to be home. They are trustworthy and respectful along with producing a very high quality finish.

Yankee Restorations is the best! My husband and I have 35 years of experience working with contractors and lots of experience with DIY so we are no newbies to construction. I had tons of work that needed to be done in my house so I could sell it. Well after Yankee Restorations got done we decided to “LOVE IT” not list it. Everything they did was done to perfection and if it wasn’t perfect they fixed it without me asking and at no cost to me. And they do it all roofing, carpentry, painting, sheet rock, wall paper removal, kitchen remodels, bathroom remodels even pool tile repairs. They also are the most reliable team I have never worked with in terms of meeting deadlines. I am glad I picked them. My house never looked better and the whole transformation was stress free because I didn’t have to do anything but tell them what I wanted done. Oh, each night they cleaned up before they left.

Rob and the guys showed when they said they would and were very professional, yet personable for the entire job. The work was top notch and they cleaned up before they left each day. When the work was done, they reviewed everything with me and my wife and made sure we were happy - which we were. And the best part? 100% what he quoted and not a penny more.
