 + -1 moreThe company's owner looked at the damage a couple of times. He made a HUGE deal out of the height factor. Despite the fact that the actual damage was simple to repair, he insisted that the job would require either a cherry picker or scaffolding just to get up to the 3rd floor. His entire estimate was based on the fact that the cherry picker would cost $1000 per day to rent or that scaffolding would take the entire day to put up and take down. We were convinced by the owner, Don Otto, that either scenario would require quite a few hours of work. The morning on which the work was scheduled two men with one ladder showed up and completed the work in about an hour. No cherry picker no scaffolding! Mr. Otto completely misrepresented the situation. The only reason we agreed to his estimate was because he insisted that the repair men would face great difficulty in getting up to the 3rd floor where the damage was. A complaint was made to the better business bureau to no avail.
Description of Work: The side paneling on our home was blown off during heavy winds. The actual job of repairing the damage was simple but the damage was done on the 3rd floor so height was the overriding concern. Also, the distance between the adjacent house posed a challenge for the repair men who had to get up that high. Repairs were made and the siding seems to be holding.
