I've been waiting almost 20 years to re-upholster my grandmothers sofa and chair, so when I moved to Boston last year from NH I called Copley.   Bonnie at Copley Upholstering suggested a dependable moving company, a few amazing fabric stores and even where to download their store coupons.    To say I was impressed when I saw my grandmothers furniture is a huge understatement.   The detail and old world craftsmanship was way beyond anything I could imagine. If you really want to see magic, then bring your treasure to Copley Upholstering for a make-over.    Really.

I requested a cushion insert for our antique very long couch. I explained that I was planning on making a slip cover for it, but I needed a good insert, as the one that was currently on the couch was a replacement for a mildewed down cushion and was only a piece of foam -- I wanted a puffier/more in style with the couch kind of a look and feel... picked up the "insert" and saw that it had piping and was a slip cover. I explained that I did not want piping, as it was an insert -- they offered to fix it, if I find that necessary. I will bring it back, as I do not want the added bulk/bulge of the piping underneath the upholstered cushion cover.

We have used this company several times. The most recent was to reupholster a beloved old rocking chair passed down from my grandparents. They have always been friendly, on-time, quality work, etc. The main contact seems genuinely to love the work and be interested in helping. They have many many books of fabrics to look through, though once we chose to go to zimman's in revere for the greater selection. But we fully trust Copley to do the work. The space is on a small one-way residential street but there are a couple of places to park by the entrance. And they will send someone out to help you carry items in. I love the old-fashioned feel of the place, big wide space with all variety of furniture. They did an excellent job with two modern style chairs we had reupholstered as well as that rocking chair. Prices seem to me very good but not giving top mark because I just don't know comparisons!

Copley was very easy to work with and to communicate back and forth with via email to get an estimate and also to communicate the details of the job. (Reachable by phone too.) One of my pieces was complex and specific and they did a lovely job. It was easy to set up pick up and delivery dates and time, no waiting around for hours for them to show.

A VERY PLEASANT GROUP OF PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH. THE WORK IS OF EXTREMELY HIGH QUALITY. THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL AND DID EXACTLY WHAT WE WANTED -- QUICKLY. SCHEDULING PICKUP/DELIVERY WAS EASY. NOTE: WE SELECTED ALL OF THE FABRICS ON OUR OWN, FROM FABRIC STORES (AND FOUND THEM GENERALLY TWICE AS EXPENSIVE AS COPLEY). ALTHOUGH COPLEY HAS A LOT OF FABRIC SAMPLES TO DECIDE WHAT TO USE, WE DIDN'T NEED THOSE SERVICES. WE FOUND THEIR PRICE ON FABRICS WAS BETTER THAN THE FABRIC STORE -- BUT THEY DIDN'T HAVE ACCESS TO ALL OF THE FABRICS, SO WE BOUGHT OUR OWN FABRIC AND THEY USED IT ON THE FURNITURE.

HERB WAS ON TIME FOR THE QUOTE AND DID NOT TAKE LONG TO FIGURE OUT HOW MUCH THE JOB WOULD COST. HE KNEW WHAT KIND OF SOFA IT WAS AND WHAT TYPES OF FABRIC WOULD LOOK GOOD ON IT. VERY REASONABLY PRICED AND EXCELLENT WORK, THE FINISHED PRODUCT IS FANTASTIC! I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER. THEY ALSO PICKED UP THE SOFA AND DELIVERED IT AND THAT WAS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE.
