I called this provider from an ad in the Newton Tab. It seemed like a simple job, just replacing a ceiling ventilator fan. The work went quickly, but It did require the worker to go into the attic to hook up ducting for the fan outlet. The installation seemed OK at first. It wasn't until later that I found these problems: The fan did not draw enough air. The suction was very low. A month later, when the attic cooled off, condensation formed on the grill when the fan was running and water dripped into the bathroom. It was a cheap replacement unit that was noisy The grill did not cover the ceiling opening. (See photo) I went into the attic myself to see what was wrong, I found the following: The selected fan unit had a 3 inch outlet that did not match the 4 inch ducting in the attic. Electrical tape was used to improvise a fit of the mismatched parts. This kind of tape will not hold up when the attic gets hot in the summer. The unit was installed up against a cross beam. This caused the outlet ducting to be collapsed against the beam and severely restrict outlet flow. (See photo) I called Steven to discuss the issues. He said he would come back for a look, but he never showed up. Subsequent calls and emails were not responded to. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Steven had 30 days to respond, but did not do so. The bottom line is: This provider does poor work, charges a high price, and does not respond. Buyer beware. ...... p.s. I later resolved all the problems by calling in a new, competent electrical service provider. I had all the work done over . The junk fan unit installed by Steven was removed and scrapped. A new fan unit was installed and the ducting was re-routed. Everything works fine now.
Description of Work: The job consisted of replacing a worn out ceiling ventilator fan in the upstairs bathroom of my home. It was an installation job, no new wiring was required. The job was finished the same day I called the service provider. .
