Peter and his crew exceed our expectations. For example, they removed the storm windows and frames so that the sash could be painted completely. They washed the storms and outside glass. The view from inside and out has not been this good in 20 years. They also did things that cannot be seen. They applied "lead block" to all the surfaces that had previously had lead paint, so any potential lead contamination would be minimized.

They went to great lengths to match the color the house already was on the areas that they redid. They also gave me all the leftover paint. They take great pride in their workmanship and were very professional. I would recommend their work to anybody.

Late in starting my elderly Mother's house, due to rain, he chose to concentrate on the next job he had lined up, leaving five Brazilians who did not speak English (and did not seem to be painters), stating that they would be supervised, they were not. I looked out one day to see his assistant washing lead paint off shutters that belonged at the site Luddy chose to work on. That was the only time his "supervisor" was there. I caught Luddy one day, looking for his helper, and he had the gaul to tell me that the guy at the house he was working on "wanted the job done right." Who doesn't, Mr Luddy? I made the mistake of paying him before they finished on the last day, and his promise that everything would be cleaned up everyday never happened, and I ended up filling bags of trash after they left. The paint began peeling within the first year.

Last January I had Mr Luddy paint the interior of our newly purchased cape home. He did a great job, it looks wonderful the walls ended up needing a lot of work and they came out looking fantastic. I knew I wanted the exterior painted in the spring, so based on the great work he had done inside, I gave him a deposit to insure that I would be the first job when the weather warmed up. I wanted all work completed by the end of June when I would be in the home full time.
Once spring came it was one excuse after another with calls not being answered, and promises not kept. Finally in July he sent a man to start the work. This guy was very nice, quiet, neat and very unobtrusive, but some days he would be there, and some not. It took six weeks to get this job done. I am happy with the way it looks and that is the most important thing. But I did not plan to have a painter at my house for most of the summer. Mr Luddy only showed up twice the whole summer, and was full of excuses. The work seems to have been done well, but once he had my deposit for the second job he didn't care about the agreement if you use this guy, stay on top of him all the way

Response from Peter Luddy Painting & Decorating
"[member name removed] are wonderful people. I am glad that they are happy with the inside work that my crew did for them. The outside was a different story due to the weather. I do not paint during bad weather as some other painters do. Exterior painting is done on dry days only. During the spring rains it is important to allow drying time which can take as many days as it has rained. Spring of 2012 (april thru june) was extremely wet here on the cape and that was the reason for the delay in completing this job. The Joyce's have wood shingles on their house which takes the longest to dry after the rain. July was warm and dry and that was the earliest that all my spring exterior painting began. I have several crews that go out on jobs and they are all professional and do not need me to watch over them. I check to be sure that they are working to my standards which they all do. I guarantee my work so I make sure it is done right from the beginning."
