He has cared for 2 of my dogs and has been great-with my older lab and now with my puppy-I don't have anything negative to say-he is reasonable caring and great with the animals.

As we have moved around for the navy for the past 12 years, we have had quite a few vets for our pets. Our dogs are like our kids - we had them before our kids and they are real members of our family. I think we have spent more on our dogs health care over the years than our own kids so we have a good idea what can be spent on vet services. Dr. Olmstead is what I call an old fashioned vet and what I mean by this, is his philosophy. He has successfully set up his practice in a way that allows for same day appointments often. He will make a house call if necessary. He even answers the phone quite often. His wife acts as his medical assistant and is extremely gentle and caring and I believe is trained as a nurse, they are the only two people who work there. Dr. Olmstead pretty much does everything by himself or with his wife assisting and has successfully operated on both my cat and dog and was very kind and gentle when he came to our house to put down our other dog. He does not nickel and dime you over every last thing. He does not recommend you do $400 worth of blood work every six months on an aging dog, like other vets. When our dog had to have an operation that he thought would be best done with a laser, he recommended another vet, how refreshing! Honesty and compassion! You will not feel like you are being ground through a medical factory - he is competent, caring and a welcome alternative to many of the other animal medical facilities out there.

Every visit is a pleasure, he is kind, considerate, very down to earth, easy to speak with.....
