In July of 09, Mr Somers was paid in full to repair a small sunroom and farmers porch roof that was leaking where the room and porch met. After the first rain we discovered that the roof was still leaking. We contacted Mr. Somers by phone and he said he would be out to fix the roof soon thereafter. Upon inspection, the roof was shingled up to, but not including, the farmers porch where it leaked. Several weeks after our phone call to him, he had not come by, so we contacted him again and again he promised he'd be out to rectify and complete the job. As time passed we contacted him by email as he was no longer answering phone messages. Reminders continued from September 08 through September 09. At this time we wrote a letter to the complaint department of the local paper and forwarded him a copy along with more phone messages. No word was ever received from him. We then sent a complaint to the Better Business Bureau of eastern Mass and the Consumer Assistance Council of Cape Cod. Neither agency was able to contact him and resolve our problem. We sent one final email in January 2010 asking that he call us. Still no word other than an email that stated he would fix it but "not for free" --- his only message after a year and a half. We did not need an entirely new roof but only needed the shingles fixed where the roof of the sunroom meets the overhang of the farmers porch. Mr. Somers knew this and we both decided that replacing the whole roof would serve us better. However the whole roof was not replaced and the leaks continue. We are incredibly frustrated, disappointed and disheartened with Mr. Somers and his lack of ethical practice as this is still not resolved and we will no doubt need to spend more money to have the job fixed once and for all while Mr. Somers has our full payment of a job not done.
