Terrible. Accused of breaking my own furniture. Rods, clips, drawer spacers, vase, missing ...As far as the rods and clips they were stuffed into my personal file box rather than being handed to me. Those are heavy pieces that go into a large vertical file. I eventually found them but not the vase. As far as breaking furniture I was told when the furniture was put down that a mahogany sideboard table had spindly legs that tended to crack. They did not own up to the fact they were cracked leaving the truck. They had the gall to accuse me of breaking the table! Long story made short the legs broke off the expensive table in the thickest part. No cracks when it left my former residence. All in all, a bad move. I don't like me of accusing me I had nothing to do with.

"[Member Name Removed], My guys that were at your home have all worked for me for many years. Things can happen during a move. They all are honest hard working men. If there ever is a claim for something that gets damaged they always bring it to my attention and the customers attention. You willingly chose the free insurance coverage of 60c per pound to replace damaged items. When the men explained to you that the legs on your piece are spindle legs and are fragile and the item shouldn’t be slid. If it was to be moved it should be lifted and placed not slid. When they came back into the room and you had slid it and Snapped the leg this is something that insurance doesn’t cover. It only covers it if we break the leg. All 4 of the men that were on your job told me you slid the piece. There isn’t any reason for them to lie. 60c per pound coverage would be like $30 why would I try to deny a legitimate claim so minimal. It would be in my best interest to have an unhappy customer for this small of a cost. The other items that you have were placed into a file cabinet because they fell out of the desk were had to stand on end to get out of the room it was in. As far as your whole move every thing else was perfect. To move your whole home and the listed items were only the issues to have I think we did pretty good. And since you tipped the guys and said they did a great job that’s usually saying you were pleased also. If you were unhappy why would you tip them and 2 why wouldn’t you call me as soon as there was an issue. Not over a week later. As I said before in our emails I would have gladly sent you the $20-30 dollars to help in resolving these minimal issues. I try to make all my customers as happy as possible."

The movers were great and we even gave them a tip. The experience was very nice, but when I called the owner, Robert, I said I have the bill, but I need to make some correction because I was over charged. He billed at $218 per hour and it should have been $200 per hour for four men. I confirmed with him before the move that I wanted the four men for $200 and he said it was not a problem. The four men showed up. At the same time I also gave $100 deposit and he gave me the Angie's List coupon. When I spoke with his wife and she said they would send us a check. He then told me that they never used the deposit, which was true and that was completely fine. About the hourly rate, he said he would not honor it because it was never said. I then asked why he sent four men instead of 3. He continued to say he did not owe me the money. The movers had grease on their shoes and they got it on my carpets. Before the move, I had the carpets cleaned and he told me that he would pay for the carpets to get cleaned again. I had them out and charged me $125. Now when I reach out to him he says he does not owe me anything. He owes me $278 for the difference in hourly rate and carpets being cleaned.

You even asked for me to email you a confirmation with the rate which is $168 per hour. Prior to your move date you asked us to bring a 4th crew member which over the phone I stated $218 per hour for a 4 man crew. Our rates are registered in the MA dpw offices by state law. As I had stated in the email I sent you, we never charged your credit card for the deposit so the amount of the bill was correct. As far as the rug that was soiled, even though when I asked my crew they were not aware of any grease on their feet, I told you I would within reason pay for the rug to be cleaned again. I am a very easy person to work with and when I feel we make a mistake I honor that mistake. We have had all A reviews on Angies list for many years. The voicemail that you left stating that if I didn't pay you what you wanted,you would hurt my reviews on Angies list is a blatant disrespect for the site. Also my responsiveness you rated an F, I had many conversations and sent you an email in regards to the rug cleaning and the one time I tried to reach you by phone your phone didn't take messages. I feel you need to rethink your remarks on here. Once again I have no problem paying the rug cleaning of $125"

We did miss communication on the delivery date Bob did say he could make it work later in the day, but they were able to be there first thing the next day and that worked out fine.

Having never hired a moving company before and after hearing so many horror stories I was nervous going in, but the team from Statewide put all that apprehension to rest. From the first phone call to the end of job, everything went as planned. Day of the move Tony and his crew were nothing but careful, efficient, quick and more than helpful. I don't plan on ever moving again, but would hire these guys again in a second. Great job.

They were wonderful, professional, hard workers, I really can't say enough good about them. One item got broken, they immediately offer to reimburse us. After an 11 hour move with only one item broken is a wonderful day. These guys really had a tough day with our move, as we had a lot of stuff and they never complained and never stopped. I would refer them to anyone I know, and would not hesitate to use them again. If you are in their service area, this is the only phone call you need to make.

Superbly. Men were on time, energetic, polite. Cared about doing a good job and about anything we asked for during the move. Pleasure in every way, from talking to the owner to decide to hire and throughout the entire move. Actual price was very close to owner's sight-unseen estimate. Whole air was of old-time personal service. Would recommend to anyone.

We have a positive experience with Statewide Moving and the rate was much better than MOST movers in the Boston and Metro West area. (Many movers were charging nearly $180-200/hour for a move - which seems insane when you're not even moving on Labor Day weekend.) Getting an estimate and scheduling a day to move was quite easy, and Robert was very responsive on both phone and email. We chose them because of their price and their responsiveness.
We lived in an apartment in Boston and were moving to the suburbs. It took a little over 4 hours for three friendly movers to get us moved from the moment they walked in to the moment they left. They helped us disassemble tricky IKEA furniture and did a lot of heavy lifting, handling fragile items with care. We've been unpacking the house for a few days now and every piece we brought over, including glass, is in perfect shape. We are happy with Statewide Movers and would use them again.

They were professional and worked efficiently which was good as we were paying by the hour.

Statewide Moving had moved me 9 years ago and I was so glad when Bob said he could help me again. I gave him a list of my belongings over the phone, he gave me an estimate of the cost, and just the right size truck showed up on time at my door. His 4 fellows were extremely polite, obviously knew what they were doing and seemed to actually enjoy their work. They had a home office to move and formed a "fire bucket" type line to move all the boxes of files. No damage to anything as they wrapped and taped most of the items that were not boxed. They worked very hard and very efficiently. It took away a lot of stress involved in my move. I HIGHLY recommend them. Oh, yes, and the final cost came in right on estimate!

I've used them twice. The second time they didn't even charge me. It was a small job and they came in and say hey, no charge. How many people do that? They are very efficient. They show up on time and do the job. The guy is very affable. He comes in, you tell him what you want and he says oh yeah, I can get that done. You say well, I don't think that could be moved through the door, he say, oh we can do it. And they do it! What you think is hard to do and impossible, they get it done somehow. I think highly of them. The price was fair. I really thought as far as moving companies go, you couldn't ask for more. I wanted something shipped up to New Hampshire too and the guy said forget about it, it is just going to cost you more to ship it, you buy one up there. So they are honest. They are not trying to make a buck. He could have said we will ship it up there for you.

Mark Sexton and his team was VERY responsive. This is the second time we've used his services. The quote process was quick and we able to confirm a date very quickly. Support staff that assisted with the reservation and logistics was excellent. The day of the move arrived and 2 trucks showed up at the storage facility 10 minutes early. The crew introduced themselves, asked questions about how to organize the moving process - which furniture would go in which truck and what sequence. We were all loaded up in 2 1/2 hours - perfectly organized and everyone was very professional. We then went to the cottage to drop off some furniture and pick up some other 'stuff'.....this part of the process went quite well. We bought lunch for the crew...they were quite appreciative and then went to the new house for the final move in. Our new home is 3 stories - with a 3rd story gym. We have a professional grade Eliptical AND Treadmill. These guys were AWESOME...heavy difficult equipment and a tight staircase - they worked as a team, helping each other and exhibited a sense of teamwork....all without a scratch.
This was a great experience! They are a well run company and i would highly recommend them to anyone.

We hired Statewide for our move into our new house. We had four guys who were all professional, courteous and polite. It was a rainy day, they had mats to put down on the floors and were very cautious about walking on any of the carpets. They were careful with all of our furniture and nothing was damaged. I though their price was very reasonable and they not only packed up their truck and moved everything, but we also had a POD full of stuff (we were in between homes at the time) and emptied that for us also. I would highly recommend these guys. Their price was definitely reasonable. I hope to never move again, but if for some reason I had to, I would absolutely use these guys again!

Larry and his team were terrific: clean, courteous, careful and professional. They arrived on time, took a quick tour of the apartment noting which pieces they were responsible for hauling. After noting the pieces they got right to work wrapping everything in blankets and moving them to the truck. They even added a few items that we initially were going to move ourselves. Upon arrival at our new house, they toured the house noting which rooms each piece would be unloaded. They then moved everything to each room as directed, unwrapped the furniture, reassembled anything and repositioned furniture as directed. They even moved the former owner's old washing machine to the basement and hooked up our washing machine in the laundry room. Nothing was damaged during the move. We recently called Statewide to help us move a piece that furniture deliverers did not get up our stairs. The original deliverymen put in the bare minimum work to try and get the pieces up the stairs and my wife and I were able to move some of the pieces that they refused. The last piece was too heavy for us to attempt. We called Statewide and Larry led the team again. They tried various different approaches to get this substantial piece up but it was too large for the angle. They suggested a couple of routes we could explore to try and get the furniture up (hoisting through a window, unscrewing a lower portion of the piece, remove the newel post on the stairs). We ended up removing the newel post and they were able to wedge it up and through to the second floor. They took care and did not damage any of the walls, floor or furniture during the tricky maneuvering process. They then moved some other furniture around to make room for the new piece and positioned everything as directed.

Statewide was an excellent company to deal with. The movers were polite, respectful and offered a few suggestions on where to put things in the new house. They had the whole move done in approx. 4 hours and came in $400 less than the original quote.
The 3 gentlemen who came were here right on time and each offered their hand as they introduced themselves and offered their hands again with a thank -you as they left. Not one item scratched or broken. They were great and I would definitely reccomend them to anyone I know that is moving.

Moved one bedroom and office furniture, etc. plus extra boxes from basement. They were very responsive and arrived one time. There were two movers who managed to get the truck loaded in just over an hour. They were very considerate of hardwood floors and didn't make a scratch. They wrapped the large furniture in individual pieces and saved time by not having to deconstruct the furniture. Very fast and efficient. Definitely recommend.

Two men showed up when they said they would. I did not think the king size bed could be moved into the room where I wanted it, but they managed to do it. The stairway to the finished basement has a bend in it and is narrow, but they managed to get the twin bed down the stairs without damaging the walls. I think the price was fair and I highly recommend them. Mark, the boss, is a very affable person.
