Description of Work: We are doing a major renovation to our home. Adding a second story to our existing home. We hired Peter in the past to re do our kitchen. He did an amazing job and delivered on time. We are so happy to work again with him. He is honest, listen to you, gives you great advices, put security first, always here when you need him.... I can only say great things about Peter, never had to complain about anything.

PJZ was polite, on time, provided an answer to all questions promptly. Final price was the same as the estimate, no surprise added costs. Work was quality and clean. We are very pleased with his work and would recommend him to anyone.
Description of Work: PJZ opened up a door way, added a french door, added hard wood floor and wainscoting to match the rest of the house.

Peter and his crew did a great job on our doors. Firstly, Peter worked directly with me in selecting our doors and accommodating one that was non-standard requiring a custom order. Peter was always in touch via email which was great for me as my main form of contact. Peter made time on my schedule, arriving on off hours and days to take measurements and discuss. Ultimately the quality of his work stands out above all the other great points. I left for work at 8AM and he and his crew were already hard at work. I came home to a completed project and a spotless work area. Everything was done just right. I am sure I will be using Peter again on future projects!

It went very well actually. We did have a delay caused by the cabinet manufacturer and a delay due to the city losing a permit request. We found Peter to be honest, reasonable and trustworthy. He's not a charmer. He works rather than gabs but we were ok with that. He did come back to adjust a 15" bank of draws that had dropped (became unlevel) on the shims in order to have the 1"x3" mosaic backsplash installed on the level. I guess the true gauge of how good someone is is how quickly they respond when there is a problem and their demeanor. He responded right away and was great about doing it. He also came back at a later date to install the microhood. Ours arrived damaged and we weren't sure we could exchange. he offered to try and bang it out and install it rather than have us take a loss. In the end, the manufacturer replaced it but Peter had to make a trip back a week later to install. We found him to be very reasonable.
Description of Work: gutted and remodeled my kitchen from ceiling to floor. Ran a new gas line from meter to other side of house for new gas stove and fireplace insert (not installed by him). Remodel included replacing 1 window, new cabinets counters and tile floor. His subs were very professional & on time. Peter did the cabinet install and the window replacement. Subs did electrical, plumbing and tile floor. Cost overruns were minimal: found a web of "not up to code" wires in the attic when installing new pot lights.

We are repeat customers of PJZ, and continue to be extremely impressed with his skill, professionalism, and reliability. PJZ replaced our old carpeting with new wood floors. He paid close attention to detail, with beautiful trim work around the brick fireplace. He also made the new wood floor connect seamlessly with the 100-year old wood floor in our dining room. Finally, he installed bifold doors in front of our washer and dryer. After visiting our home to provide an estimate and take measurements, Pete came back several weeks later once the materials were ready. He arrived promptly at 8 am on the scheduled work day, and was done by 4pm. He cleaned up the debris and demo spotlessly, and we could hardly tell he was there. The room looks beautiful, and we consider ourselves lucky to have found Pete. We recommend him highly, and are already talking with him about another job this summer.
Description of Work: PJZ installed new wood flooring, as well as bi-fold doors in front of our 1st level washer and dryer.

Peter and his co-worker were prompt and professional. They were patient with changes I requested during the job. They swept up the basement where they cut lumber and woodwork, and the upstairs before they left. I'm very happy with the new coat closet and the cubbies, and also with the various repairs made, especially the floors. A note: they offered to do their wood cutting outside, to avoid a mess, but it was cold (February), so I offered to let them use the basement instead. I definitely plan to call Peter again in a few months for more work on the house.
Description of Work: Peter Zanni and his co-worker constructed a closet after removing a built-in china cabinet, linen cabinet, and drawers. They moved one dining room wall 3 inches, then framed up the the closet, added sliding wood doors. They made it easy for my electrician to follow with a permanent light fixture and light switch by leaving drywall openings and strings for the wires. He replaced shoddy cubby hole doors in 2 bedroom eaves with solid doors and doorknobs. He enclosed the inside of the cubbies with drywall to save heat and to keep insulation and dust out of the cubbies. Peter also did the following: installed a heavy toilet topper cabinet, glass bathroom shelf, glass medicine chest, and towel hooks; replaced wood flooring in 4 rooms where steam radiator pipes had been removed by taking old flooring from a closet and replacing that with new flooring; replaced tiles in a bathroom and in the kitchen where pipes had been; and replaced a strip of exterior aluminum around the front door which had holes from former door bells.

Pete Zanni was referred to us by another contractor who did not have time for our job. We called Pete, explained the job, and he was at our home for an estimate that night. He provided a quote in a timely manner, which happened to be more competitive than other quotes we received, although that was not the driving factor in choosing Pete: we felt comfortable he had the skills to complete our job. Once we signed the contract, Pete came back one more time to take final measurements. He ordered the custom door, which took several weeks to arrive, and as soon as the door was ready, we agreed on a build date. He arrived at 8am on the build date, and was done by 3pm. He and his team cleaned up the worksite very well and removed all of the debris from the demolition. What other contractors told us was a complicated and difficult project seemed to be easy for PJZ, and we remain totallly impressed with his craftsmanship and business skills.
Description of Work: P.J.Z. Inc. far exceeded our expectations. Our project involved creating a door and closet under the 1st floor staircase in our 1890 house. Pete Zanni, owner of PJZ, executed our vision perfectly. He measured and ordered a custom door to fit the space, demo'd the wall (horsehair plaster) to make a door frame, built a door frame that matched the molding and style of the rest of our home, and installed wood flooring in the closet. The space for the door was challenging as it was under the stairs (making the available space very small, particularly as it was under the angle of the staircase). Pete had creative ideas to make it work and look great, whereas other contractors said it couldn't be done. We searched for a skilled craftsman for this job for months. We consider ourselves very luck to have found Pete, and will definitely work with him again for future remodeling projects.

we had issues but none of them were related to Peter or his subs
Description of Work: If you want to save the 3 months to interview 3 contractors, literally, and land one that is highly qualified then contact Peter. He was our contractor for a kitchen remodel. We aren't quite finished yet. Counter tops were installed today and plumber will be back Friday to hook up appliances. Peter is someone who can build your house from scratch, build an addition, remodel your kitchen or bath. Peter is a custom home builder by trade. He has built over 60 homes but due to the economy the new home market has dried up a bit. For my job, I started out by contacting all the top rated contractors/remodelers on Angie's list and found that they were all too busy. Thanks to Angies list these contractors turned work away. Good for them. Not good at all for us. Our entire kitchen was gutted. He replaced one window, took down a knee wall and pulled up the floor. He installed the cabinets and had subs for tiling, plumbing and electrical. Peter completed the finish work himself and it is perfect. To me the finish work can often make or break a job. Peter is not a talker. He's not prone to long conversations. When he is on site he is working. The job came in on budget and would've been done 1 week sooner had the city of woburn not lost the permit application. I did not know Peter before this job. He was recommended to me by another Angies List A lister who couldn't take my job because he was in the middle of 25 bathroom remodels. (we are happy to not have been number 26) I called 3 of his references, people he had done additions for, and they all sang his praises. They all said that they'd hire him again in a heartbeat and so would we.
