I much prefer the Waltham site (old Healthpoint.) There are frequently broken machines, the showers in the women's changing room are often either cool (no hot water;) or the shower heads have very low pressure, and the water comes out in a trickle.

It's clean and well-managed. It's gigantic. It has everything imagined. It has all of the exercise equipment and exercise rooms. It has pools, tennis courts, and full-size basketball courts. It's one of the luxury centers. I've been using them for 10 years.

It is an open gym. You can work on your own. They have staffs with whom you can work. It is a great gym. They have indoor basketball, swimming, and tennis. This is very unique. The personal trainers are good. The price is expensive. It is pricey to get the basic membership. The trainings there are another additional cost. They have all the amenities. If you really take advantage of things there it is very expensive. If I had a family of four, and the kids wanted to play tennis and I wanted a personal trainer, it could easily cost me $700 a month. It is not good for the kind of money involved. The cost is ridiculous. Playing tennis is $10 and playing it five times a week would cost $200 a month. The trainers are $100 per session. If you take the trainers four times a week it would be $400. It would be $700 to $800 per person. The gym is in good shape and locker rooms are good. They are friendly. I would use them in the future.

Summary: My daughter joined BSC late July 2011. She used the club 9 days and then went away for the summer. I put the membership on hold until September and said I would re-evaluate her membership after school started. BSC put the membership on hold for the month of July only and then charged me $50 for the month of August. I called on the error but BSC refused to refund the payment because they said I told them to put the membership on hold only for a month.
I called BSC twice to get the $50 charge refunded. The first time I called nobody called me back. The second time I called I was told I needed to take this up with a manager. I went to the club in person. I was told to see John C. (one of the two managers working that night). I asked for the $50 charge to be fixed. John refused because he said I put the membership on hold for a month. John also said that once a charge is made by BSC there was no way for it to be fixed or changed (he actually was the 3rd BSC employee who said the same thing about BSC's inability to fix any charges once made).
I told John if he would not fix the charge I would dispute it on credit card (which I did). I also said I would write this up on Angies List and he said and quot;Go ahead. This is what we have corporate lawyers forand quot;.
I told John I was cancelling my daughter's membership which I did that night. And was again charged another month's fee in order for BSC to acknowledgement the membership cancellation.

The club facilities are excellent: clean, well-maintained, up-to-date. I paid extra for one-on-one personal trainer and that experience was excellent. The club has extended hours into the evening which is great for me.
