The Parlor Salon & Apothecary

Frances, the hairstylist and colorist, is fantastic.  She is professional and skillful, and she listens to your needs and preferences and adjusts her work accordingly, delivering a polished finished product.  The receptionist (I don't know her name) is friendly, nice, helpful, and efficient.  Nikki (the owner?) is very nice too.  I was there with my newborn baby and the baby had to nurse, and Nikki did not hesitate to lead me into one of the facial/body treatment rooms for me to nurse in quiet privacy, even though I didn't have any service from her and she didn't know me.

The place itself is upscale, decorated with contemporary sophistication.  It is a soothing, tranquil environment with helpful but not hovering staff, allowing you to have a quiet and pleasant experience without feeling obligated to be anything but yourself.

I've been to numerous hair salons over the years, in downtown Boston in the Back Bay/Newbury Street area, as well as now in the suburbs.  This has been one of my great finds and one of the most pleasant places for hair care.  I highly recommend!
