 + 0 moreWe were very pleased with the contractors and the Dovercraft construction manager that did the work at our house. They were highly professional, always on time, kept the areas as orderly as possible given the scope of the renovation work. They made certain that everything that was delivered for installation met our agreed-upon requirement,s even taking it upon themselves to send back the the counter top back when it did not meet the specification and had a new one fabricated. The same was true of the cabinets. We were always consulted to make sure the work was completed as we wanted it to be. The work was completed on time and for the cost we had agreed-upon Our only complaint was that since Dovercraft describes itself as a design-built contractor, we expected more assistance with selection of cabinets, counter-tops, lighting etc. Since they are knowledgeable and we were not. We needed help in making appropriate choices and trying to keep the cost within budget. (Perhaps other clients already have knowledge and opinions in advance, but it would have helped to sort this out sooner, or to be clearer upfront.)
Description of Work: Renovated our kitchen which had been originally remodeled in 1985. Kept the same floorplan and footprint but replaced cabinets, counter top, installed all new appliances, refinished existing wood floors, removed wallpaper, painted, installed wall-mounted flat screen TV

 + 0 moreJim Marcotte gave us an estimate and timeframe of 9-10 weeks for the work and made suggestions to preserve the colonial style of our 1840s farmhouse. His subcontractors and workers were on time cleaned up every day and actually completed the work a week early. Along the way Jim made suggestions and actually designed a custom breakfast nook and window bench that are highlights of the addition along with a fireplace with a granite hearth that matches the granite countertop in our adjoining kitchen. Although having up to 4 or 5 workmen at your house for more than 7 weeks is a bit of an inconvenience, they were all very polite and accommodating as well as very proficient. We are very please with the new family room and owe Jim Marcotte and Dovercraft our thanks for making our vision for this addition come to life.
Description of Work: Added family room to existing house with custom built in breakfast nook and window seat as well as new siding and shutters put on entire house.

 + 0 moreJim is extremely consciousness. Ralph is his master carpenter and he could do anything. I highly recommend them without hesitation whatsoever
Description of Work: They did some work in the kitchen. They took out the compactor and made a cabinet for us. They also did a lot of carpentry work. They pretty much did our whole condominium.
