I hired Dan to install 2 Senville Aura 48K condensers with 8 split ductless heads (4 18K, 4 9K). Dan charged me less than half of what it was going to cost to go with the other option I was looking at. Dan spent 5 days doing the install with his helper, he took whatever time was needed to do the job and make it look as good as possible on the exterior and interior including the work required to process my incentive rebates through my local utility, which unfortunately are only $2,000 vs. some of the larger incentives available from other larger utilities. Before I found Dan just by chance through his FB advertisement, I received quotes from 3 other companies to add Mitsubishi HyperHeat (and non-HyperHeat) AC/Heat to my home (no existing ductwork). Immediately I had sticker shock, I knew prices had gone up over the years, but the prices were through the roof expensive and way outside of my budget for the project. Before getting prices for the job, I envisioned that I was going to be eco-friendly -- turn my perfectly functioning gas boiler and baseboard into a dinosaur and move over to using air source heat pump (ASHP) split ductless units exclusively. This felt good until I realized out how much it was going to cost to install those units and did the math to compare my electric vs. gas rates and efficiency in both cold and frigid temps for the Mitsubishi HyperHeat. Not only would it cost me more money to heat my house than my existing gas boiler, but the install cost was way too much. For those with oil, propane or electric baseboard heat, ASHP will cost you less money to heat your home than your existing heating system, so at least you have some ROI to work with. The things I really liked about Dan from the second I found his FB page was how proud he was of his work, I could tell from the second I saw all of the pictures he took, just how hard he worked to do a quality install. Meeting him in person was no different, he had to drive far to get here, and he took a very long time going through the rooms and outside of the house to come up with a plan that wouldn’t look like spaghetti on the outside. Additionally, I asked a ton of questions before I had him come out, and he took every one of my questions seriously and ensured I had answers. Unlike a big company install where the person coming out to do an estimate is not the installer and you have no idea who will do the installation and how good they’ll be, with Dan, you get Dan, he’s the same guy doing the estimate and the same guy doing the install (perhaps with a helper if it’s a big job like mine). I highly recommend Dan The SuperContractor HVAC for your ASHP heating/cooling needs. He will do a great job installing your system and will save you a boat load of money over the name brand big HVAC company alternative.
