My two partners & I share a small 2-room office suite for which we needed advice about and installation of phone service, a wireless internet connection and wireless all-in-one printer/fax/scanner/copier. We needed advice about the most appropriate type of phone service to install and Ms. Nelson was surprisingly stingy and slightly surly with her advice, yet clearly generous to herself in how she tallied the time involved. She forgot about the scheduled appointment to install the equipment and only came at all because I called 20 minutes after the prearranged start time. She was inflexible about rescheduling and arrived 90 minutes later requiring me to reschedule planned tasks & meetings. We had hired (and paid well for) her to select, buy & install the printer/fax/scanner/copier machine which proved to be defective in several different ways. We told Ms. Nelson about these issues within 2 weeks of the installation date and she gave us a choice: a) we could package and return the machine ourselves at our own expense and receive from the manufacturer a refurbished, not new, replacement piece, or b) she would do this AT ADDITIONAL COST. She never acknowledged that she had already billed us quite a lot for a machine that never worked adequately. I tried addressing these issues with her which resulted only in a lot of attitude by her. She then mailed her second bill to us reflecting these additional fees and a week later started to phone me daily at my office and home insisting that I pay her immediately. My partners suggested that we pay her additional fees just to "cut our losses" and eliminate any more interactions with her (we need to spend our time running our business), all of which I communicated to Ms. Nelson. We haven't heard from her since.
