The mattress is great, price fair, and sleeping well. The delivery was terrible and not free. I paid for delivery so expected decent service. They were disorganized - the original date on the slip didn't exist, needed to reschedule, and then delivery men were not careful and bent a newel post on my staircase while bringing the mattress in. Then they came back because they had delivered (and carried up 2 flights, breaking post in process) the wrong mattress. After some calls and a repeat delivery, I have the right mattress. The owner (not Therone, Mike, they may be co-owners) said he would come by to look at the broken post at 1 PM the day of the delivery and never showed that day or followed up. The mattress is good, but I still need to get the newel post fixed. If I figure in the eventual cost of getting the post fixed, the mattress was not a bargain. Can only recommend this place if you can pick up yourself, I will not patronize this place and pay again for sub-standard delivery service.

We washed up at Watertown Mattress after having already scheduled delivery of a bed for our daughter, who was graduating from a crib. We were just looking for a mattress. Mike was such a breath of fresh air from the furniture megastores we'd already visited. He knew his product, and he was fun to talk out possibilities with. He answered all our questions and bent over backwards to schedule us a quick delivery. Best of all, in with the mattresses, he had stowed some really lovely beds and prices that put the megastores to shame. Real wood, even -- at a price competitive to the bed we'd already ordered, which was definitely not real wood. So we canceled our order and bought our bed from Mike too. When he delivered it, I was in the middle of trying to get our kid's crib out of her room, and he kindly disassembled it for me in addition to assembling the new bed. I'd recommend him to anyone.

In my experience, mattress sales people are cut from the same cloth as used car salesmen. After visiting a few big name chain stores, I walked into Watertown Mattress and had a completely different experience. The woman who helped me was the wife of one of the owners and after I described how the mattress would be used, she directed me to a good value mattress that was in my price range. She answered all the questions I had and told me she could schedule delivery between noon and 2pm (it was 11am at the time). At 1pm, a truck arrived, two men delivered the mattress and boxspring carefully, removed all the packaging and made me a hero to my wife. Great experience -- I'll go there first next time.
