I would not recommend them. Initially it appeared they did a good job on my rubber roof, so I hired them again for full gutters, which they subcontracted out. Within the year I had a large leak develop behind their new gutter. They acknowledged the problem but it took months, and constant badgering by email and phone, to get them to come back and fix the problem. They tried a temporary fix with sealer, which failed in weeks, and then it took weeks longer to get them to come back and install a fascia apron. The next year, my rubber roof leaked where they had flashed it. Again it took months to get them to come back and look at it, with constant badgering. When they came back they applied a copious amount of sealer and told me that I had a rot problem with a wooden railing that I would need a carpenter for, and that they would send me photographs and suggestions for repair. They never replied after that, and the leak continued despite their sealing attempt. I finally gave up and found a new roofer, who tells me that they did an inferior job in the first place, and the repair is costing me thousands of dollars.

I highly recommend Newton Roofing Residential. In 2014, they replaced the entire roof on my home with high quality materials, in a safe and timely manner, and at a very competitive price. In 2020, I decided to address another need - my aging second floor porch, which serves as a roof to the first floor porch below. It was becoming increasingly unsafe due to wood rot, with a soft floor and loose railings. Given my positive customer experience in 2014, calling Newton Roofing in 2020 was an easy decision - I did not get quotes from any other company. Rich came out and provided a detailed explanation of the materials and labor needed to replace the porch and to install new railings that best match the style of my home, and he followed up with a very competitive quote for the project. Gus and Julio were the on-site team who completed the project and their work was exceptional. Both men were incredibly skilled and meticulous, and thoroughly impressed me with their attention to detail at every point in the project. They worked on my home as if it were their own, which I greatly appreciated. I was so pleased with their knowledgeable and experienced craftsmanship. As you can see, I am a very satisfied Newton Roofing Residential customer!

I found Newton Roofing on a local list serve without knowing them at all. Recent wind storms created a lot of damage and I knew it was time to get a new roof. Tom and Rich returned phone calls immediately and gave me a very fair price. Their workers came quickly and completed the project in a very professional manner. In one full day of work, they were able to take off the old shingles, repair boards and leaks, and reshingle the two steep main roofs of my house. They cleaned up immaculately and were extremely safe. They were respectful of my property and fun to work with. It was a whirlwind of a day, but it turned out perfectly! I can very very highly recommend them.

Rich was very responsive to our request since we had evidence of leaking. He was very thorough and took time to explain the work and the pricing options. His price was competitive with another company but because of Rich's customer service we went with Newton Roofing Residential. The company took care of the city permit, had the dumpster onsite early in the morning, crew was there early and worked incredibly hard from 7 am to 4 pm. Quality looks excellent, work was fast and efficient, and they did a great job cleaning up all the debris.

Excellently - Rich picked up my call right away (after I'd tried calling 3 other businesses) and took details as well as came over to provide an estimate the same day. He emailed an estimate that seemed reasonable which I accepted and told me he could have his folks get it done next day which is exactly what happened. Rich was very careful to match the exact single type/color. I'm extremely happy with the responsiveness, attention to detail and quality/price of the work done. I'd use Newton Roofing Residential again anytime.

"Newton Roofing" had done work for me 25-30 years ago. I didn't know the name had been changed to "Newton Roofing Residential", and was under new management/ownership.I called and Mr. Melo answered right away. I explained the problem. He personally came to inspect the following day. I had feared a new roof might be needed, but he explained the damage was likely caused by a damaged (perforated) shingle. One of his crew came out 2 days later and replaced the shingle. The price was reasonable. I also noted another shingle that lifted, due to a "nail-pop". This, a relatively minor matter, was repaired at no extra charge. I cant' recommend Newton Roofing Residential strongly enough. They were prompt, efficient, professional, and polite. Mr. Melo took the time to explain matters to me in detail. I will certainly be using them for roofing matters in future,

Newton Roofing responded quickly to my general roof repair request. Rich Mello came out and assessed the situation and suggested both a roof patch repair and/or a partial roof replacement. He was informative and helpful. Not a hard sell at all. Quickly emailed an estimate for both jobs. I thought the price was good on both. I went with the patch repair and a month later it was completed. They even were good at cleaning up and looking for dropped nails.

I was extremely happy with their work. The background is that I hired another roofer for a whole roof replacement earlier in the year. He is a big name on Angie's List and very well reviewed. He did a good job but told me he didn't know how to fix a section of rubber roof that abutted a wooden gutter that had been covered with metal flashing in the past. He recommended a copper roofer, who never returned my calls. Newton Roofing Residential came to my rescue. When I met the manager, Rich, it was clear to me that he was extremely knowledgeable and experienced. He recommended a solution that solved my problem at a very reasonable price. The quote was rapid and thorough. The work was done in a timely fashion and is clearly high quality. My only regret is that I didn't hire them in the first place to do my whole roof replacement, don't make the same mistake I did.

The roof was done last summer and it looks nice but I paid for some additional roofing shingles for a kitchen expansion. The additional shingles were never delivered. I have called several times. I was told that the shingles would be delivered a few weeks ago. Still no shingles. I would like to give a better review but I have found this company difficult to deal with. Newton roofing did drop off the roofing shingles on 8/12/19

"It is very true that there was a long delay in getting the client her extra shingles. We have no excuse for the long delay. The shingles were to be furnished for an eventual small addition project. The shingles were in fact delivered yesterday. From all accounts, including the client's, the project was completed on time to the client's satisfaction. A year later, the roof has held up well. It is definitely frustrating for the client however, that they waited so long for the material she was owed. We obviously have extended a sincere apology to the client."

I had this company repair my slate roof about 8 years ago and they did a good job. This spring I needed some more work done on the roof. This included 1. Fixing a small leak and 2. Installing heating cable on the edge of the roof so the icicles would not form and fall down and damage the stairway below. I had the owner of this company out to look at the situation and he indicated he wanted to do the job. After this he did some research and emailed me about a possible problem with the heating cable. I emailed him back that it really wasn't a problem as far as we were concerned and wanted to go ahead with the project. After this we heard nothing. I left a telephone message twice to call me and then email to call over two months time and he did not respond. If he didn't want to do the job all he had to do was tell me, not waste my time trying to reach him. Simply stopping communications like this I feel says something about a man's character. I certainly would not recommend the owner of this business for your project.

They came when scheduled and did the work. The problem was the mess they left. I send the following email and pictures when I saw the work in daylight. Since then I have gone back and forth with Rich with minimum success. They made an effort to clean the marks on the house but discolored the siding. They only get back to me when I write to them and then only to say they will gather more info. A huge disappointment from a company so highly recommended. Hi Rich, I didn't get outside in the light until Saturday to check out the roof project. I thought I would find some nails and debris but that was the least of mess left from the job. The roof install was sloppy and the clean up minimal. Heavy layer of grit and dust on surfaces of house with horizontal edges. Molding, window sills, front hall (inside and out), lower roof. Basement window slides, track full. The AC unit's fan blades were covered with grit and the bottom of the unit had a thick layer. Lower gutter contain heavy layer of grit and roof waste, the same can be seen in the back gutter. Assume the front/side gutters are the same. Many of the gutters go into the ground. Washing all this debris down will cause blockage. Smear marks on siding and woodwork, siding most obvious on driveway side. Have done cleaning of grit on house as much as possible without powervac. Did not think to take picture until I was almost done. Photos attached.

the crew took up the roof ridge cap and took a picture of the work and demonstrated that the roof ridge had actually been cut. At that time I decided to go ahead and have the put a rubber roof on the porch. They competed the job about a month later and I am satisfied with the result
