Overall it well. It took a little bit of time to get the final drawings, but I could understand due to the pandemic. Kamer was fairly responsive to my questions via phone, email, and/or text. Kamer is a very pleasant person to work with and he takes his time to explain his drawings. I also find his prices to be very reasonable for the quality of work he did for us.

In general it went well. Kamer is a very nice guy and very pleasant to deal with. . Sometimes I had to wait a little bit before I got a return phone call but for the most part he was pretty responsive. I was happy with the plan in the end. His additional support after fulfilling the contract was good. I would recommend Kamer. He did a nice job

Kamer was easy to work with and responsive to feedback throughout the process of providing preliminary then final drawings for a master suite addition over a garage.

I don't think we could have made a better choice for our architectural needs. Kamer was very punctual coming to our house to make preliminary sketches and going to the zoning board to get all the required information and regulations. During the design process he kept us informed and was able to address our needs and concerns. He was a pleasure to work with. We couldn't be more pleased with the final design. It incorporates everything we want and need.

Kamer was a top professional, even coming by to drop off papers as promised before major surgery. I was very happy with his work and personal attention to details.

While the plans were delivered as convened and on time, I found it a tiny bit difficult to get detailed explanation from him. Perhaps that's a question of personal style. In any case, the whole thing was smooth since the general contractor expressed no difficulties understanding the plans nor procuring the corresponding LVL beam.

He gave us a functional and code-compliant design that allowed us to add a full bathroom to the apartment.  He was very responsive and helpful and had tremendous knowledge of local codes and what would be possible in the space we had available.  We couldn't be happier.

Kamer promptly response to my request and stopped by for for an appraisal/estimate for the work requested . He is professional and easy to work with. Kamer was able to complete the plan within a week, as promised.

I met Kamer and I liked him right away and without asking he offered me the Angie's list discount. 
He came over and took many measurements of my home and proceded to develop a design for me.  Although, I had changed my mind a few times it was no problem to him.
He is a knowledgeable,  hard working, honest and a gentleman; I would not hesitate to refer him to anyone.

I have a rental property in Somerville.  It's a 100 year old, 3 family house that I inherited from my dad.  The 2nd floor front porch had a supporting post that was bent and cracked.  I called a contractor to check out the front and the back porches for any repairs that might be needed.  He found that the front porches needed a new post, a new support beam, some railing replaced, a new rubber floor and wooden deck for the 3rd floor porch.   He also found that the first floor back porch needed to be replaced, as well as the main foundation that held up all three porches.  I learned that an architect would be required to draw plans in order for a building permit to be issued.  I turned to Angie's List to locate an architect in the area.  I contacted Kamer Minassian, who was quick to meet me at the job site.  After showing him the house, I had him draw up the plans.  He charged $1000, and reduced it by $50 because I found him on Angie's List.  Kamer explained to me that he is listed on Angie's as an architect, but he is also a licensed general contractor.  I had him email his credentials etc. and had him write a quote for the repairs.  After I got his price, I went out for a third quote.  Kamer's quote turned out to be the best (even though he was not the lowest bidder).  It was written in the form of a contract, with a price and details for each line item, and the payment requirements for each phase.
Based on my experience with him as an architect, and his detailed quote, I chose him.  During the project, we met in person, and we corresponded via email and phone.  Unlike many contractors, he promptly returned all my calls.  He even started the daily work after 8:30 AM, so that my tenants would not be inconvenienced.  The project ran on time and there were no last minute add ons.   Kamer is a true professional and a highly qualified architect and general contractor.  He is a person you can trust.

he was incredibly responsive, returning several times to finalize the design and take measurements. He approached the relatively small project with energy and enthusiasm and charged much less than other architects would have.  now that construction is nearly complete -- and there were no glitches associated with the design -- i can say that anyone looking for an architect would be wise to hire him.

Overall the drawings were followed by the contractor's crew. The position of the new slider in the drawings was slightly off to the left than where I wanted it. I would recommend that you go thoroughly over the drawings before contraction starts and before each step.

We needed architectural drawings for a two-family which Kamer supplied at a very reasonable price ($900); he explained to us that we also needed a mylar copy for the registration (which we did not know), identified a surveyor for us; personally confirmed a reasonable price for the surveyor ($750) whom we paid directly  and Kamer also kindly arranged for the surveyor to speak to us/work us and coordinated final delivery. It was a great, smooth experience and cost quite a bit less altogether than we would have paid elsewhere. We would hire Kamer again in a minute.

As for the bathroom addition, we talked to some contractors to narrow down possible locations to the sitting room on the 2nd floor and part of the master bedroom on the 3rd floor (the latter is above the kitchen). With this knowledge, we started vetting architects to develop plans for the bathroom and the living floor. We contacted at least half a dozen, discussed the project in detail with those who got back to us, and obtained quotes from three. Kamer Minassian Architects, whom we called after a strong recommendation by a contractor we'd used in the past, were the last we spoke to and we had no reason to contact anyone else after them. Kamer is the principal architect/owner of the firm. For starters, he was very courteous on the phone and flexible on the time for initial meeting - he agreed to meet me at 5:30pm since I couldn't get out of work before then. He spent significant amount of time discussing the project with me and provided a quote, which was on par with the lowest quote we got from the other architects. I decided to go with him since he was a great listener and wasn't trying to push a preconceived vision. Once I informed him of this, he came for a second meeting, again at 5:30pm, and spend a few hours discussing the project and taking measurements. Here I have to say that he is a dignified gentleman and the probing and progressive way in which he teased out different aspects of the project made this an enjoyable experience. I could see the project taking shape over the course of this meeting. In a couple of weeks he had the initial plans and came back to take some more precise measurements to finalize the plans. During this visit, we discussed his preliminary plans, and it was creative and at the same time attempted to minimize construction cost. For the bathroom, he proposed to take up the main closet and the area surrounding it in the master bedroom. He compensated for the lost closet by defining a closet space elsewhere in the bedroom and for the lost space by expanding the master bedroom in a creative way by moving the door frame and the small non-structural wall segment around it out into the hallway. Also, he determined that there may be a way to route the plumbing to avoid entering the other unit (which I later confirmed with a plumber). This was a tantalizing possibility that obviously made getting the other unit owner's concurrence easier. He also presented two options for opening up the living area. My wife and I just loved his plans. In about a week following this third visit he emailed the final set of plans to me with the precise measurements. Once we picked from among the two options, he delivered the stamped and signed copies of the plans for the bathroom and the living area. He also provided me the pdf and CAD files for my records. Working with Kamer was a pleasurable experience from start to finish and we look forward having him over to once his plans have been realized and of course to work with him in the future on other projects.

Kamer was a pleasure to work with in every respect. He gave us a quote of $400 and spent a considerable amount of time and effort on the project - creating drawings of the entire floor and basement for us which we will be able to use later for other projects - but this was still covered by his original quote. He came up with different drawings for different options depending on what would be found when the wall was opened. He came out on several occasions and worked around our schedule including evenings and weekends when that was our only option. He was very professional, personable, and diligent and his work is top-notch. I would highly recommend him and plan to go back to him for other projects in the near future including a deck that we plan to build.

We contacted Kamer based on a recommendation from a trusted contractor. Aside from his proven depth of experience, his demeanour was very reassuring, aand he demonstrated great attention to detail and listened to our overall goals and made several adjustments during the course of working with him. After making several visits to the job site, he also made several suggestions that will ensure that the renovations match the existing style of the home. We are extremely positive and would not hesitate to contact him on this or any other job.
