GARDENING WITH JENNY

Jenny gave us a great CAD rendering of a new design and a reasonable price quote. She and her team were meticulous installing the new plants, loving in their saving of old ones that had survived and incorporating them into the design, sensitive in trimming overgrown plants, and extremely tidy in cleaning up. Everything looks great: I'll report again as the new plants settle in, but we're very happy indeed.

I THINK WITH JENNY, YOU REALLY NEED TO HAVE IT IN WRITING EXACTLY WHAT SHE IS GOING TO DO FOR YOU. I THOUGHT WE HAD AGREED THAT SHE WOULD DO SEVERAL MORE THINGS FOR THE PRICE, BUT I WAS WRONG.

Prompt response to phone call, submitted estimate. Work done as scheduled.

Very well! She was prompt, cooperative in every way. She did a design several times as we talked. Then prepared ground and planted. Very pleased with results, in garden and in relationships.

I THINK THAT SHE DOES A VERY GOOD JOB. BUT THERE WAS A CONFUSION IN COMMUNICATION. SHE ENDED UP CHARGING MORE THAN WHAT I HAD PLANNED AND SHE COME BACK AND RECTIFY IT.

Eugenia was very nice and on time and had good ideas. I gave her my budget and she said that she could do the work for that. I didn't get this in writing. She said that the plants were more expensive than she thought and it came to exactly $99 more than the budget. She did not include any receipts for the plants. I felt taken for an extra $100 for a very small job. Shame on me for not getting the quote in writing. I am happy with the outcome, but there is nothing in particularly special about the arrangement. I also have no proof that the soil was changed. I would not hire again due to the over cost.

Jenny warmed to the task immediately, making suggestions but assuring my husband and me that she wanted to take into account our tastes. She worked tirelessly, through the worst rains we've had in New England since the 1930s, and came in on time and on budget. Jenny also sent us digital photos of our garden, with renderings of the plants/bushes/shrubs/borders she planned to include (for our approval). She worked with us, suggesting substitutes for plants we weren't crazy about. She also provides a map of your garden with all the plants labeled for your reference. Working with Jenny was an incredibly positive experience. Where other landscapers never called back, (probably because they thought the job was too small) Jenny dug in, literally, and now we have a gorgeous small gem of a garden.

JENNY AND HER ASSISTANT WORKED ALL AFTERNOON ON MY BACK YARD AND SIDE WALKWAY ON A DAY THAT WAS MORE THAN 90 DEGREES AND EXTREMELY HUMID. THEY TRANSFORMED A MESSY, NEGLECTED-LOOKING AREA INTO A TRIM, WELL-KEPT ONE. COST INCLUDED AN INITIAL CONSULT THE WEEK BEFORE THE WORK WAS DONE, PLUS SELECTING AND PURCHASING ALL SUPPLIES AND NEW BUSH. SHE'S A PUNCTUAL, CORDIAL PERSON WHO IS CLEARLY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT PLANTS AND WHAT MAKES THEM THRIVE. SHE CAN SET UP A SEASONAL SCHEDULE FOR MAINTAINING THE YARD IF YOU WISH HER TO DO SO. I'VE HAD A NUMBER OF PEOPLE WORK ON THE YARD IN THE 14 YEARS I'VE OWNED MY HOUSE, AND I'D PUT HER AT THE TOP FOR PLEASANTNESS AND PROFESSIONALISM.
