A dream come true! Run to this contractor as fast as you can - they are amazing, flawless and treated my home as if I were family!!! I was referred to Steve Lyle by my neighbors - 4 have used his services in the past year or so- good referrals spread fast in a tight knit community. I have done extensive remodeling projects in the past and have never experienced a contractor like Steve Lyle Contracting. They were timely and tireless - they never missed a day of work - and my project spanned over the holidays. Even the day after Thanksgiving, they were there! They are helpful and even made suggestions for improvement that helped improve the rennovations. The price was very reasonable and they don't upcharge for slight changes. The team of contractors are thorough, clean and thoughtful gentleman who I was happy to have in my house for many months. Steve, his son Steve Jr. and his crew cared about the tinyist of details to make my kitchen perfect. And, the subcontractors Steve collaborates with (Gino Serracino- electrician, plumber and floor guy) are all superior as well! I am grateful to Steve Lyle Contracting for the amazing work they did, proud of my new kitchen and can't wait to work with them again!

I contacted Stephen before I purchased a fixer upper.  I knew there were some structural concerns and that it would need a new kitchen but had no idea if I could afford the improvements.  Stephen met me at the home, listened to the Structural Engineering assessment, and was able to give me fairly-good ball park numbers in that moment, which helped me make a decision on whether or not to purchase the home. (Note: no other contractor would meet me before I purchased the home - which was frustrating.)
At first I was worried about potential quality, since he seemed to be at the low end of all the estimates I finally received.  But I felt comfortable going with Stephen because he seemed very open to explaining all of the costs, and exactly what was included.  In the end, I am VERY happy I chose to work with Stephen.  He was flexible to accommodate changing needs on my end (delays on cabinets and gas service). But, most importantly, he did exactly what he said he was going to do for exactly the cost he quoted me. No surprises.  No delays due to him. And I never felt like he was trying to up-sell me or charge me for extras. He answered the phone whenever I called and took time, when necessary, to work through issues with me.
Bottom line: He's an honest guy who does good solid quality work.  I plan to work with him again when I remodel my bathrooms.

When we redid our roof, it was a bit more complex than the typical job, since I wanted additional insulation put in to help control the temperature upstairs.  Because my house has almost no attic space, the only way to get in is through the roof.  Steve was flexible about this extra request, putting me in touch with a insulation contractor and coordinating with him to pull the permits and schedule the job.  Steve was also happy to answer some of my questions about details of the job.  The job itself was finished quickly, and the roof looks great!  I'd definitely recommend Steve to anyone who needs a roof redone.

Every job Stephen and his crew have ever done for me has been done extremely well.  He is thoughtful and a very creative problem solver.  He and his employees are very professional, timely, and helpful.  He also emphasizes to his crew the importance of a good clean-up after a job.  After removing 26 old windows, which released a lot of dust and dirt, and installing new windows, they cleaned up so well that there was no evidence of the removal dirt and debris.
I would use him again without hesitation.

It went well.  This is the third time we have used Steve's company and do not hesitate to recommend him.  He provides a great value and very good quality.

Since our house was built in 1930, there was no dearth of surprises during demolition (bad wiring, lack of plumbing vents, pipes and sewage lines running the wrong way, wrong deck specifications - to name a few). So remodeling meant fixing the wrong stuff, at minimum cost while conforming to the new construction code.  Steve had already prepared us for these and efficiently dealt with these as they surfaced.
Steve handled the concrete piers, concrete flooring and brick work himself and had excellent knowledge of almost every aspect of construction - knowing exactly what goes before what and when; anticipating the needs of the electrician, plumber and the floor guys; ordering things in advance and making his crew available when needed - these technical and managerial skills, no doubt made the entire work flow smoothly.  His crew, comprising of his son and a few others, arrived around 7:30 daily, were really well behaved and worked as a team. Steve came every day to personally supervise the work and make sure we were happy. We were really impressed by his guys who handled the wooden flooring, plastering and electric work.
Since the work was done last Spring, I forget some of the details. But I can say for sure that with Steve and his crew, you are in wonderful hands. Unlike contractors who sit beside a computer and sub-contract the work to others, Steve is quite knowledgeable, he listens to you, educates you so that you can decide wisely, delivers on time and above all is a wonderful person.
In terms of expenses, the $55K included the main construction work (labor + materials) but not the kitchen appliances, granite and tiles. Also, I paid the plumber and painter separately. The $55K also includes labor for some extra electric work that we did in the house and the flooring in another small room

They were good.They designed it, did a good job, was fairly priced and delivered what they say they would.

Estimate was fair. Work professionally done. Excellent daily cleanup. Very satisfied with results.

Gave an estimate, performed the work and finished. Well done. Great communication. Never made anything out to be a problem when suggestions were made..

He is a wonderful man, and he did a terrific job.

Everything went well.  Stephen knows what he is doing, is willing to listen, and he truly cares about the end result of his work.  He is consistent in that he uses the same crew, and he has reasonable rates, too.

Stephen was busy and we did have to wait a few months for the project to begin.  However, he was easy to reach (always answered his phone or returned our calls promptly) and kept us informed about the timing of the project.  Once his team started they were on site every day until they finished.  Steven was on site often to supervise.  Weather was horrible but they worked through it diligently.  The porches needed more repair than originally planned but Stephen was up front about the needs.  After his team finished we had a small concern about one railing and he came back and fixed it - no hassle.

Stephen is busy for a reason. His team does quality work and are reliable.  We would use him again.

Stephen and his crew did a fantastic job.  There were a number of challenges in the project, and Stephen's solutions were much better than the kitchen designer's. For example, there was no good place for the steam radiator once the adjacent wall was removed.  Stephen's solution was to build it into the base of the island that replaced the wall, which has the added benefit of keeping your feet warm when you sit at the island now!  As with many projects, unexpected things came up once the walls were removed and we saw what we had to deal with.  Stephen is unflappable, and he had creative and effective ways to deal with them.  The workmanship of Stephen and his crew was terrific, too. The electrician and plumber Stephen brought in also did an outsanding job.

Addendum: A few months later, Stephen replaced my garage roof for me.  He did a terrific job with that, too.

Steve came and measured doorway. He then ordered entry door and storm door I selected. Once doors came in we selected a date to install them. Steve did a great job on both doors.

FABULOUS. STEPHAN RETURNED MY INITIAL CALL VERY PROMPTLY. OFFERED TO DRIVE BY TO INSPECT THE DAMAGE AND BEGAN THE REPAIR WORK IMMEDIATELY. THE DOOR IS BACK ON AND IN BETTER WORKING ORDER THAN IT HAS BEEN SINCE WE MOVED IN 3 YEARS AGO. CAN'T GET A HAPPIER ENDING THAN THAT. WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO WORKING WITH THIS COMPANY IN FUTURE PROJECTS.

STEPHEN GIVES CONTRACTORS A GOOD NAME. HE WAS WONDERFUL TO DEAL WITH, WAS A MAN OF HIS WORD. HE WAS HERE WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD BE, COMPLETING THE WORK WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD. HE WOULD MAKE SUGGESTIONS FOR MATERIALS AND ESTHETIC CHANGES THAT WERE WONDERFUL...AND WITHOUT ADDITIONAL CHARGE. HE EVEN RESOLVED A PIGEON PROBLEM, CREATING A BOX-LIKE STRUCTURE TO KEEP THEM FROM ROOSTING IN A CORNER..WITHOUT ADDITIONAL CHARGE. IN A CASUAL CONVERSATION REGARDING A FLAGSTONE WALK FROM MY CHILDHOOD, HE THOUGHTFULLY ADDED FLAGSTONES ON THE PLATFORM WHICH IS WONDERFUL. HE IS A PLEASURE TO DEAL WITH, AS ARE THE MEN IN HIS CREW. THEY ARE POLITE AND RESPECTFUL TO ONE ANOTHER AS WELL AS TO ME. STEPHEN IS A CRAFTSMAN, AND I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM WITHOUT RESERVATION.
