This contractor was recommended to me as one who specializes in structurally stabilizing older homes. I met with Mike and provided him with dwgs. from my Structural Engineer. He appeared to be interested in doing the work but dragged his feet and would not give me a price until a month later. Told me it was a straight forward job and he would be able to start immediately upon accepting his proposal. A month later and after numerous calls, he finally got back to me with a price of $48,500. A bit of a sticker shock, I asked him how he came up with that figure. His response was: ' well this is what I typically make in month, so I wouldn't do it for anything less'. I was dumbfounded. The job was worth about $10,000 +/-. He essentially wasted a month of my time and gave me nothing more than lip service. I was finally able to find the right GC who did the job for a little under $10,000. My recommendation? STAY AWAY from this GC.
