A Mulberry tree close to our house was struck by a neighboring large Maple that came down during Hurricane Sandy. After several months it was clear we could not save the tree and requested estimates from three companies. JLM showed they were knowledgeable about the fact that Mulberry tree roots were shallow and the rep was confident about his crew being able to handle the removal without damaging a Japanese maple and a birch tree on which it was now leaning and entangled. Other vendors were either more expensive or in one case displayed ignorance regarding the tree, stating they would chop it down in one cut - a rather dangerous maneuver because of the house proximity, let alone the damage to the other beautiful trees. JLM were came, avoiding a possible rainy day due to potential danger (I thought that a plus) and expertly removed the tree, cut the wood the way we requested, were tidy (even somewhat overzealously), and my conversations with the crew revealed they were all old hands at the job. Overall, we were very pleased with their work.
