Handyman Service
$12,000
The job was only supposed to take a couple of weeks but it ended up taking almost 3 months. It has only been about 2 years since they did the work and the gutters are literally falling off the house. They replaced some of the fascia board but they weren't primed so they are going to rot out. He said they bought the boards from a hardware store but they told me they prime all their fascia boards with a grey primer, so the handyman had obviously not gotten the boards there. The gutters have leaked since they left and they would not return my calls. I also had them do some work on the roof above my porch. The roof is made of fiberglass roof and they used multiple boards to hold the roof up and now the roof is sagging. There are certain areas on the house where gutters couldn't be installed and they were just going to put down flashing. Some of the nail heads were sticking out of the flashing and some of the nails had been completely thrown out of their holes. He tried to tell me that is normal but it definitely is not. I would definitely not recommend this company.

I had two previous excellent experiences with Handyman Network, one deck repair the other, painting. This handyman was not entirely skilled at the required tasks and took over 4 hours total. Tenant described him as confused. He measured wrong and had to return knobs/plates. We were charged for return trip when he left one package on the checkout counter. I called manager and expressed concern about time/expense. I expected the offer of a small, even a token, discount as good customer relations for a third-time return customer. Instead he was argumentative, adversaries and generally seemed unaware of reasonable business practice under the circumstances. When I then asked how the billing was calculated for those jobs, It turns out I paid a rate of $80.00 per hour for an inept workman, and was told I was lucky to find someone at that rate! I'm disappointed because I had really hoped for a long-term relationship. I even have a to-do list I drew up with them in mind.
