GABRIEL'S CUSTOMIZED UPHLSTRY

From start to finish it took about 3 months (in part because the fabric I selected was backordered and took a while to arrive). The total price was a bit more than I had expected to pay, but considering that I didn't pay anything for the chair to begin with, I was OK with it.

The shop is fairly easy to find, and there is plenty of parking across the street. I brought the chair in and Gabriel took out some of the staples while I was there, to figure out what the problem was and whether or not he could fix it. He explained what he would need to do and the complications of it, given that this was mass-produced and there was no extra upholstery to work with. He told me what he would charge, asked if it was OK, then wrote up a bill of repair and gave me a copy. Twenty-four hours later, he called to say it was finished, and when I came to pick it up, he made sure I checked it out and was satisfied with the job. I had one of these same chairs repaired a few years earlier by someone who had to do the same thing and charged less, but that was in a different state. I still felt Gabriel's price was reasonable, especially given how fast it was done, and I honestly wasn't sure where else I could take it and get the same expertise. Old-school quality work and honesty here, as far as I can tell...

Overall it went very well. It was easy to drop off and pick up.
