They were really good. I think they are on the pricey side. When they came to install them, they noticed there was a flaw in one of them, which I didn't notice, and they just reordered the part, and took care of it. They called me when the part came in, and that was useful for me. I would have probably never noticed there was something wrong with it. They take a lot of pride in the quality of their work.

They were five stars across the board.

The whole process was outstanding. We started in the showroom to see samples. We could have spnt hours in there if we had more time. We picked out a few patterns we liked and then they came to our home for a consultation. The consultant spent the time to give valuable opinions and feedback and was not pushy at all. In fact, we went with a slightly different product that was a bit cheaper, had a rebate offer and looked better in our home in the long run. I cannot thank this company enough. They are true proefessionals.

All appointments were kept on time. The estimate was provided on the spot. I received a couple of discounts/rebates which saved me money. Installation was quick and done with no mess.

The gentleman who came to the house for a consultation was prompt, friendly, and very knowledgeable. He measured all the windows, and provided samples of countless window covering options. He knew how the shades would look in different lighting and at different times of day. He was helpful in choosing ones that would allow you to see out during the day, with some sunlight coming in. He also pointed out ones that would become opaque to someone standing outside at night, thanks to the outdoor security lights. He also knew about UV-blocking shades for closets, and showed us materials that look higher-end for the living and dining rooms. The variety of colors and textures was impressive.
We had to reschedule installation due to other work going on at the house, and they were understanding and accommodating. The installers arrived on time, were very kind, and worked quickly. They were careful and tidy, even wearing protective covering over their shoes to avoid leaving any marks on the carpets. The two men did all 26 windows in only a couple hours. They left no mess or trace behind. At one point, a third man arrived. He asked both the installers and us how everything was going, which seemed like a strong sign that they really care. It's been a few weeks now, and the shades look great!

Chris was super helpful, worked within my budget and made great suggestions on ways to save me money without sacrificing quality.  He did not pressure me at all, and offered to come back again when I wasn't sure about a decision.  I would definitely use them again!

I loved the end result and can only speak highly of the expertise, professionalism and the customer service! The initial at home consultation convinced me I had chosen the correct service provider. There was no "hard sell" and in fact, cost saving options that I was unaware of were brought to my attention. They were responsive and never impatient with my subsequent inquiries. The installers were just as much a pleasure to welcome to my home. Custom window treatments were something I budgeted carefully for and the prices appear to be competitive with my online research. I have no regrets about the purchase and look forward to completing the remaining windows in the not too distant future.

I searched Angie's List for several reviews before calling companies to get quotes for window treatments. The first company I had give me a bid I though was rather high and the salesperson did not appear very organized nor were they very helpful when I asked for suggestions on what they thought would work best.  They just said that they could do anything that I wanted and what I really needed was a little guidance.   The 2nd company I got a quote from was very knowledgeable.  She provided great suggestions and the price seemed reasonable and I almost decided to cancel my appointment with Designs in Blinds and Drapes and I am so glad that I didn't.  After reading great reviews on Angie's List for this company, I called the office to have someone come out and give me an estimate for fabricating and installing window treatments.  The office manager delightful and friendly and scheduled an appointment to have someone come out immediately.  My home is new construction and all of the windows were completely bare so I needed something immediately to provide privacy.   Mike the owner was both punctual and polite when he arrived and measured every window with careful precision.  He was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful in offering suggestions when asked on what would work best. I appreciated his honesty and expertise.   Because I could tell Mike was a man of integrity and the price was right, I knew I could trust him with my project.  The blinds took approximately 6 weeks to come in and as soon as they did, they came out and installed them.  Temporary blinds were offered in the interim.   Two of the blinds were slightly damaged in shipping and were not that noticeable so Mike installed them anyway so I would at least have something on the windows until the replacement ones came in which they did just when he said they would.   Mike had said to call anytime if I had a problem with the blinds and so when I noticed a slight scraping of one of the bottoms of the silouettes weights against the sill, I called him to see if there was anything he could do.  He said no problem and came out with 2 weeks and took care of the problem.  
 I just love my new window treatments and was thrilled with the level of customer service that I received from this company!  I recommend them highly and I will consider using them again when I am ready to do soft window treatments.

One of the guys came out to give us some options for top-down-bottom-up, cordless blinds for our living room. They had a coupon for free features (top-down and cordless), and there was a rebate on each blind for the vendor we went with. It was also tax-free weekend. So we ended up being really happy with the price. The salesman (Mike?) was very pleasant, and, as promised, not pushy. It took about three weeks for the blinds to arrive, and the installation was included in the price. The went in great, no problems. We noticed a few days later that one of the blinds had a weird stain on the inside of the comb, and someone came out that same week to look at it. It hasn't been replaced yet, but they have promised that it will be taken care of and I have no reason to doubt that. I would definitely use Designs In Blinds again.

I'll start by saying that I was totally new to thing whole custom window treatments thing--I was coming from rental apartments where I could just throw a sheet up on a rod and that worked for me for "blinds," but with this job, I contacted them to help me put something nicer up on the 20 windows of my house. So the consult included a whole lot of education about what custom blinds are, the varieties that exist, as well as the range from super simple to really detailed blinds and panel curtains. I started by emailing them from my Angie's List account--although I asked to be emailed back, they called me within 10 minutes of my hitting "send" on the email (truthfully, that's the only thing I would have changed about all of this--I really did want to be emailed back) but, regardless, they were super nice, and Lisa came out to my house a couple days later and gave me a crash course on window treatments--from Roman Shades to panels, to every kind of blind known to man, she told me the benefits of each one, let me go through fabric sample after fabric sample, as I tried to consider how they'd look in three of the seven rooms I was looking to get blinds for. She was totally patient and didn't hard sell me--I really got the feeling that she wanted me to be happy with my choices. I ended up asking for fabric samples for some panels and Roman Shades I was considering--and she sent them to me promptly within the next couple of days. Once I saw the estimate for the more involved window treatments, I did have sticker shock and wasn't ready to go that route so quickly. So, instead, I just got honecomb blinds for everything. What was nice was that Lisa was totally understanding about that and didn't try to rush me into any decisions about anything more expensive (the window treatments I'd been considering  would have run about $1000 per window for up to 8 windows). I still don't know if I'll go that route yet, but if I do, everyone has been so nice & professional that I'd definitely consider using them for those too. And Lisa was also able to help lower my costs by about $500 with a rebate from the blinds manufacturer--which, of course, made me very happy (and brought the total cost to under $4,000 for 20 windows).
The installation was this morning. Bob did the installation. He was friendly and super thoughtful about keeping the outside doors of the house closed, as I have a cat I didn't want to get out. (And my cat liked him, which is saying a lot--she usually runs away from workmen in the house). He installed everything in about 3 hours and was very careful to put each blind by each window before beginning installing everything to make sure they were all accounted for and that each blind was with the correct window. Every blind works well & Lisa's measurements were all spot on (and every window in my house is a different size). When Bob was done, he showed me how to use each kind of blind (some had ropes to pull, others had little tabs on them) and he showed me what to do if they ever got bunched up or stuck and how to adjust them if they ever seemed crooked). And I did get the feeling from everyone at the company that if I ever had a question in the future about how to use them, they'd be happy to answer it, no matter how small the question might seem to be.
All in all, it was an excellent experience, I'd totally work with them again (and they were all very clear with reminding me that if any of the blinds get damaged, they've got a lifetime warranty and will fix them for me). I'd recommend them highly to anyone--and I was also happy that all of the reviews I read on Angie's list were accurate--since that's how I decided to get in touch with them in the first place.
And I'm thrilled with the blinds--my house is really feeling more like a home now that they're installed! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And even better, it's nice to know that when I look at them, I'm reminded of how flawlessly the whole process went and how nice & professional everyone was.

This was a great experience. Everyone I dealt with was very professional. When I'd decided on the window treatments, I was able to schedule appointments that were very convenient--first to have the windows measured and then to have the treatments installed. I will definitely use them again.

I wanted to have two Hunter Douglas honeycomb blinds in my kitchen replaced because they were over 10 years old and were stained.  Chris from Designs in Blinds and Windows scheduled an appointment to come and measure the windows within a couple of day of my initial call. He arrived on time and was very helpful and professional.  I needed the blinds to be installed before an event at my house a few weeks later.  The blinds arrived and were installed by Bob within 2 and a half weeks.  We were very pleased with the whole experience and are happy with our new blinds.  I will plan to use the company again for window treatments in my Cambridge office.

Chris arrived to measure and go over options for replacement blinds.  Friendly, informative, and very professional.  Mike (owner) and Bob came by a few weeks later to install the blinds.  They arrived early.  Install went very smoothly.  Blinds look great.  These guys are a rare find...great customer service at reasonable prices.  Would definitely recommend.

We contacted Mike at Designs in Blinds and had a fantastic experience all around.  Mike came to our home and offered a wealth of information and suggestions for our project and aesthetic.  We then met him at his Waltham showroom after normal business hours and made our final decisions for floor to ceiling drapes on four windows and roller shades on six windows.  Installation was scheduled once the fabric arrived and the work was beautifully completed.  I would highly recommend Designs in Blinds for any window treatment project.

I will certainly use Designs again. I just wish she upholstered!

Only 1 person came and it took him about 5 hours to complete the job.

They came  to measure and do providea a quote. They were knowledgeable and patient. Price good and as quoted. Installation was on time with no issues. Some windows were not installed on time, so they came back later to finish with no extra charge.

The process was awesome.  I stopped by the showroom and described what I was looking for - I have not had anything on my sliding glass door for the past 11 years and the sun had bleached my hardwood floor by the door.  I just had the floors refinished and needed to keep the sun out, but still have the view of the woods.  My door also had a transom window above it that I did not want to cover.  After, much discussion the salesman came up with a great solution which he confirmed when he came to give me the estimate.  Because of the type of door I had and the limitations of the transom, I bought a roll up shade in a cream color through which I could still see my woods, but the sun exposure is limited.  Rolled up you do not see the shade since it sits between the transom window and the sliding glass door.  The installer came on time for the appointment and did a great job!
Designs in Blinds had installed all my top down bottom up blinds 11 years ago and I was so pleased that this experience was as wonderful now as it was then.

Michael is a pleasure to work with.  He's a true professional and pleasant to work with.  All materials and labor have been supplied as promised and on time.
