Greeted by owner who was able to help us make a decision for the best options in blinds for the room.Very professional in manner and answered all our questions.Appointment made for home visit to measure windows and see sample product in our home before we placed order..Blinds were delivered and installed in the time promised. Everyone was pleasant and the blinds we chose look great in the den.

They've been terrific. They suggested a unique product without blackout fabric that's installed in tracked to help block light from entering around the shades (Comfortex). They were excellent to deal with throughout, and very likable people. I did have a problem with the product itself: the new shades don't seal properly at the top due to the geometry of my windows, leading to quite a bit of light leakage. Comfortex was awful, refusing to help find a solution. But Designs in Blinds stuck with me. The salesperson and the owner have been out several times to work on correcting the problem for me themselves. I think they're great.

Due to construction my new blinds were ruined. I am selling my condominium and NEEDED replacement custom shutters in a BIG hurry!!! I contacted Marlene the office manager,( who is a lovely LADY to work with), explained the situation and she called Mike who I believe is the owner. He was able to call up the purchase order which still had the exact dimensions of the Windows. They immediately ordered the shutters and put a rush shipping order on them. Two days before the open house Dave and Ted were here to do the installation! Yet again they saved me and have earned my customer loyalty for life!!! Thank you Marlene, Lisa, Mike, Dave and Ted!

This is an exceptional story of service recovery. I came back again to this company because of how they made things better with me.

Here's the headline: I received an apology call from the owner and he expressed a very heartfelt sorry for how things had gone awry. He also gave a generous service recovery gesture by amending my invoice. He sounded terribly regretful for how things had gotten botched and wanted to make up for it.

Here's the brief backstory: one window was not cut to measurement, scheduling errors occurred, and the follow up call went horribly awry.

Here's the happy ending: I had thought I'd go elsewhere and now I'm staying. I just emailed them to schedule another appointment for more windows.

They were on time, efficient, fast and hauled away all my old stuff. This included my 30 year old drapes. They were very helpful in selection of the product that they offer. They are very knowledgeable of their product as well. They did an excellent job. Every shade fits perfectly and virtually no 2 windows are the same size. I have recommended their service to others.

I opted to purchase cellular blinds for our newly constructed home from Design in Blinds over other competitors because of the high rating they have on Angie's list.  Their estimate was only $2 higher than one we received from Budget Blinds in Westborough who wasn't rated on Angie's at the time.  We're setting up our new home while still living out of state, so how a company treats its customers was as important to us, if not more so, than price. We had an issue come up with our purchase that made us very glad that we made that a priority. I'm not saying I didn't like talking with Budget Blinds; they were very professional, too, but for buying blinds for the entire house the ratings on Angie's List tipped the balance towards Design in Blinds for me.
The issue that came up for us resulted from my fabric selection for the blinds. There are so many choices and no matter what company you go with, most of the samples open up to about the size of a large index card, so it isn't easy if you don't want anything but a clinical white color which is what I was trying to avoid. I instead selected what I thought was a blind that would have just a hint of gray to it. I stayed away from the off-whites or tans because I was trying to avoid yellow tones.  My salesperson, Chris, put a rush on my order so that we could have some privacy and security for the house quicker.  The blinds came in under three weeks and installation went without any problems, but I was a bit taken aback at how they looked. Instead of a pale gray, the sun coming through them made them appear a very yellow-green!  I kept looking at them for a couple of hours trying to get used to them and think what I could do to make them go with my furnishings that were not yet in the house, but I have nothing that would remotely work with them, so I was feeling pretty bad.
I figured I was going to be stuck with those blinds forever, but when I called Chris about it, he didn't shoot me down, but instead came back out to the house to see for himself. He saw what I was talking about, and without making any promises, said he'd see what he could do with their suppliers. He and the owner of Design in Blinds must have made a lot of phone calls and while the company that supplied the blinds I first bought weren't that helpful, another company made an amazing offer for all new blinds and Design in Blinds offered to cover half of that cost!  To say I was in shock at what they did to help me is an understatement.  It was above and beyond anything I ever expected when the issue wasn't their fault. 
If my experience with Design in Blinds doesn't prove to anyone reading this that their rating on Angie's list is well deserved, I don't think anything will.

They did an excellent job. They stuck to their time, installed on time and the quality of the blinds is excellent. They spent enough time, they came home, we decided the colors in each of the rooms and what type of blinds we wanted. So, they spent a lot of time with us deciding that, which is very good. We set up an installation appointment, they give us like, okay it is going to take an hour, or two and they stuck to that. They were finished well within that time, which is very good. This is a new home and they handled everything with care. They cleaned up everything and left the place looking like new with the blinds. The type of blinds we took were a bit on the pricey side.

After visiting other blind stores and not being impressed, we were happy to learn that Designs and Blinds provides full service at a reasonable price.  We visited their showroom and decided on a specific blind. They then came out to measure and install in two separate appointments. They were on time to both the appointments, and we are very happy with the end result.

It was a pleasant and seamless process. We've now had the blinds for 6 months and are VERY pleased.  They look beautiful, function as advertised, and we've had no problems.  Designs in Blinds was a pleasure to deal with.

They were pretty typical for that kind of a service. They provided the selection and service I expected for that kind of business. I have had drapes and shutters done before in my house, and they did a good job.
