The results were even better than I'd imagined. The workmen were prompt, efficient, thorough, and courteous; they knew what they were doing and did the job right. The owners responded quickly to phone calls and emails. We would definitely hire them again for a house project!

During the multiple snowstorms of Feb 2015, we developed a leak in our roof from ice dams.  We were really worried -- the leak was rapidly getting worse, and water was pouring into our bathroom, but since the leak was in our second-story roof, and without an extension ladder, I couldn't get up to the roof to clear the snow (plus, no one had any ice melt in stock anyway).  I called the Rockwood guys -- within a few hours, Bob was over at our house to take a look at the leak, and an hour or two after that, Erik showed up with a full crew.  They climbed up on the roof, cleared the snow, cleared the ice dams -- and by early afternoon that day, our roof was clear, and the leak had stopped.  On top of that, when we got the bill from Rockwood, it was for a totally fair price.  Many of our friend had similar stories where they'd been charged exorbitant prices for ice dam removal during the snowstorms, but the Rockwood guys didn't do that, even when they could have.  I will definitely call on them again in the future -- they're solid guys, fair, honest, hardworking, and they take pride in their work.

I've heard good things about Rockwood, but I've called them several times over the last month or so trying to get an appointment set up -- each time, a nice lady says she'll check schedules and get back to me, but I don't hear anything back.  They may do good work, but expect a hard time getting them scheduled.

UPDATE (Sep2014) -- An important update that I wanted to make sure I shared -- after my original review (above), Erik from Rockwood called me -- he said he felt terrible about the critical review and apologized that I'd had that experience.  He also stated that everyone at Rockwood took their work and reputation very seriously, and vowed to do whatever he could to remedy the situation.  Long story short, we set up an appointment, he & Bob showed up at the appointed time, and were incredibly professional and knowledgeable.  At the end of the day, anyone can make a mistake, but the way they respond to that mistake and move on from there tells you a lot about their character -- at this point, I'm really impressed with the Rockwood guys and will happily have them do work on my house.

UPDATE (Nov 2014) -- To close out this string of reviews -- the guys from Rockwood came out a few more times since my last update.  We discussed the issues described above, they talked to me about my options, then put together a proposal.  In November, they came out to the house and did everything they said they'd do (plus fixed a few other problems) in a few days.  Erik & Bob were incredibly professional, but also everyone on the crew that they had with them -- I could tell that everyone they had working in the crew took pride in their work, and it showed.  We're very pleased with the work they did, and I'd happily use them again.

They did great. They did prompt work. They came back and finished the job. The work was all done. I have no complaints.

Excellent experience.. Was able to set up appt for estimate on a Sat so we didn't have to take time off from work. Windows came in promptly after ordered. Very accommodating re setting up date and time to install. 3 workers completed the job in about 3 hrs, old windows taken away and no mess to clean up. I paid with credit card and a printed itemized bill was brought back to me within 30 minutes of making payment. No hassles, didn't disrupt our busy family life at all. The whole experience was a breeze. A family business of professional and very courteous individuals. We plan on using them again for the next round of replacement windows. So very glad I found them.

Bob and Eric Rockwood and their workers were very attentive to detail and kept us informed throughout the project. The clean up went well. A very professional company- we would definitely use them again.

They do a perfect job and cleaned the place themselves. I had 2 houses done by them and did the work very fast. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

He is very easy to communicate with. His crew was a pleasure to deal with and cleaned up after themselves. They also showed up when they said they would and were done when they sadi they'd be done. You couldn't ask for anything better.

They were very good. They worked steadily and their workmanship was very meticulous. Every board lines up perfectly. Anything they encountered they took care of and within the price.
