Bill was first recommended to us by a fireplace store. We own an antique colonial (built in 1869) and wanted to install a gas fireplace to replace a brick facade wall which had a stove and quot;thimbleholeand quot; opening to the chimney. Bill not only installed the fireplace but built a beautiful mantel and surrounding bookcases which look like they are original to the house.
The addition replaced an attached outbuilding. Some remodeling was also done on existing space where the new area met the old house. We were concerned about breaking ground as winter approached (it was the week before Halloween) but Bill assured us he would have us weather tight and heated within a few weeks. This was indeed the case and the entire project was move-in ready by mid-January.
Given the age of our house, every project has met with unforeseen challenges. Bill is both creative in his problem solving and a perfectionist in his work. Also, anyone he uses as a sub-contractor will do excellent work and can be completely trusted in your home.
If you solicit several bids for a project, Bill may not be the least expensive. We have felt, however, that his work is worth every penny.
We gave Bill anand quot;Aand quot; for responsiveness and punctuality. He has always shown up as promised to discuss a new project (or will call if delayed). Don't be concerned if he is occasionally hard to reach in the interim before your project begins as he is often juggling several jobs. Once your project begins, he will be 100% on it and respond quickly to any questions.
