This company does not stand behind their work. I have a roof that was installed 2 years ago and it leaked. There was damage to the inside and outside of the house. I thought since I have used this company in 2 houses and spent about $70,000 (siding, gutters etc.in 2 homes). that Barry, the owner would stand behind his work. He looked at the damage and said it wasn't his problem. The leak was due to the pellet stove pipe. I told him that the stove pipe, if questionable when he replaced the roof, should have been replaced. As anyone knows, that's the right time to do it to prevent problems in the future. Barry refused to take care of the damage both inside and outside. I had a stove company replace the stove pipe and they too said that the roof shingles should not have been installed unless the boot of the pipe was replaced. It is over 20 years old and had several small cracks in the seams. I trusted the owner to stand behind his work. For the $650 dollars that it cost me to fix the problem, he lost a loyal customer and damaged his reputation. I am going to file a formal complaint with the state licensing board. The company that replaced the pipe said that they would gladly write a statement. Patti E

The service provided by Lifetime Home Improvement was excellent. The company was very responsive to our initial request for the service, and made an appointment to come see the project. He looked at the garage, prepared an estimate, and walked through the paperwork in detail. We were given a general estimate of the start date, and a promise of a follow up call to schedule. Our project was relatively small, and we contacted them right before winter, so we would be fit in where possible. We received the follow up call and a tentative date. A couple of days before the date they let us know they needed to reschedule, which they did. They showed up on time, and completed the work in the time frame promised. The area was left clean, meaning everything was in the dumpster, and they swept up the area to get the small pieces. We are very happy with the service. Note, we had used them about 7 years ago for another project, and had been very pleased with their service then as well.

BP Eclipse 30 year architectural shingles were installed on the roof. The job was completed as expected, but the shingles started to decompose and fall off after 10 years. These shingles are known to have problems, but BP refused to honor the warranty because they stated the shingles were installed improperly. Lifetime disagreed and would not accept any responsibility. They told me they no longer provide roofing services and they could not provide any assistance. Other roofers indicated that the shingles were substandard and were probably installed incorrectly. As a result, I ended up having to strip and replace the roof with no assistance either from BP or Lifetime Home Improvement. I would never contract with them for any work in the future.

They were great, wonderful. They cleaned up everything after the job was done. The CEO also comes and makes sure everything is running smoothly.

I had him out to do windows and a new door before and he did a good. For this reason I decided to have him put on a new roof for me. He agreed to it and said he would call first to let me know about the job. I then came home from work a few days later to find a roofing crew on my roof. I tried to ask them a question but came to find that no one could speak English. They finished the roof and unfortunately didn't do a good job. I have contacted him about a few complaints and he said he would come back out but he never has.
Response from LIFETIME HOME IMPROVEMENT INC
"A CONTRACT WAS SIGNED TO INSTALL THE ROOF ON FEBRUARY 8, 2005. THE CUSTOMER WAS CALLED ON MARCH 28, 2005 AND TOLD WE WOULD DELIVER THE MATERIALS ON MARCH 29, 2005 AND BEGIN WORK ON MARCH 30, 2005 SO WE DID. IT IS NOT UNUSUAL FOR HER TO COME HOME FROM WORK AFTER OUR CONVERSATION AND FIND A ROOFING CREW ON HER ROOF. I SPOKE WITH THE CUSTOMER AT THE COMPLETION OF THE JOB AND SHE AND HER SON EXPRESSED CONCERNS ABOUT THE EDGE OF THE ROOF. SHE ASKED ME TO CHECK THE ROOF AND CALL HER IF SOMETHING WAS WRONG. I PERSONALLY CHECKED THE ROOF AND FOUND NOTHING TO BE WRONG. SINCE THE COMPLETION OF THE JOB, THE CUSTOMER HAS BEEN CONTACTED SIX TO EIGHT TIMES TO INQUIRE IF THE WORK WAS SATISFACTORY, AND WE HEARD NO COMPLAINTS. I BECAME AWARE OF THE REPORT TO ANGIES LIST ON MARCH 5, 2007. I CONTACTED THE CUSTOMER AND SHE TOLD ME THAT WE DID NOT DO A GOOD JOB ON HER ROOF. I ASKED HER TO ELABORATE AND SHE MENTIONED THAT THE ROOF LOOKED UNFINISHED ON THE SIDES. SHE WAS REFERRING TO THE DRIP EDGE INSTALLED ON THE ROOF, WHICH IS STANDARD PROCEDURE. SHE SAID THAT OTHER ROOFS SHE HAS SEEN DID NOT HAVE A DRIP EDGE. I TOLD HER THAT I COULD NOT SPEAK ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE’S ROOFS, BUT THE PROPER WAY TO INSTALL A ROOF IS WITH A DRIP EDGE. I ASKED IF THE ROOF WAS LEAKING OR SHINGLES WERE MISSING WHICH WOULD BE CAUSE FOR CONCERN. SHE COULD NOT SAY THAT WAS THE CASE. I OFFERED TO COME TO HER HOME AND INSPECT THE ROOF PERSONALLY AGAIN, BUT SHE REFUSED. IF A PROBLEM EXISTS WITH HER ROOF WE’LL BE HAPPY TO FIX IT."

INSTALLERS DID SOME MINOR DAMAGE WHILE WORKING (GOUGES IN HARDWOOD FLOOR AND WINDOW CASINGS.) THEY ALSO LEFT DOZENS OF BITS OF CAULK STUCK TO THE FLOORS. SEVERAL OF THE WINDOWS ARE QUITE DRAFTY, AND TWO OF THEM WERE NOT FINISHED PROPERLY, LEAVING LARGE GAPS AT THE TOP. IT TOOK THREE SERVICE REQUESTS OVER TWO YEARS, FOLLOWED BY A LETTER TO THE OWNER THREATENING LEGAL ACTION, BEFORE THEY FINALLY CAME OUT TO FIX THE PROBLEMS. THE OWNER SEEMS LIKE A NICE ENOUGH GUY, BUT HIS EMPLOYEES KEPT DROPPING THE BALL.

THEY WERE THE LOW PRICE. THEY WERE EXTREMELY GOOD @ EXPLAINING THE "WINDOW BUSINESS" TO ME. I USED THEM FOR MY OFFICE WITH OUT HESITATION. $1,900.
