I became aware of Fernando Silva (the 'geek' at Geek Computer Services) when I dropped my laptop and the screen cracked. Best Buy said it wasn't covered, so I went looking for an alternate way to get the screen replaced. Geek Computer Services is just 4 miles from my home, so I emailed and asked if I could bring in my computer for an assessment. Fernando invited me to come over for a look-see. He inspected the computer, determined what needed to be done, researched the options and then called me back with the bad news: HP's price for the screen would be almost the same as that of a new laptop unless it was done through Best Buy. I sighed and asked what I owed him for his time. "Nothing," he said. "Just keep me in mind the next time you need service." Since then, I've had three 'major' computer issues with my and my wife's computer. Each time, Fernando had done a thorough fix at a more than fair price. Most recently, he un-did a dozen patches of MS Windows 'updates' (that left my computer with apps that conked out in the middle of presentations) by re-installing Windows and Office, plus cleaning up a plethora of junk that had found its way inside my laptop. I had been on the verge of tossing the laptop and spending close to $1,000 for a new one (including all the ancillary charges that come with buying one). Fernando's charge? $180. In my view, he saved me $820. If you need computer service, this is the place to go. It is first rate, friendly, and more than fairly priced.
