We called Cariano Construction for an estimate to replace our aging windows and sliding glass door. Joel (the owner) got right back to us and scheduled a time to measure the windows and get details for a an estimate. He was on time and did a very good job explaining the details of the work and provided different options we could take. He promptly returned the estimate to us and we went forward with the job. Joel's team came out as scheduled, were respectful, did a great job and replaced everything within a few days. Excellent quality work and cleaned up like we didn't know they were there. We would not hesitate to use Cariano Construction again for future projects.
Description of Work: 17 Replacement Windows and Replaced Slide Glass Door
The job went very smoothly for the most part, a minor problem due to water damage was resolved quickly. Joel the owner was very responsive and you can tell he takes pride in his work. His crew always showed up on time and the work site was kept very clean during the project. The finished product looks wonderful, all of my neighbors have remarked what a nice job was done.
Description of Work: Cariano Construction Co. replaced the siding on the front and a portion of one side of our house. This included both cedar clapboards and shingles as well as two clapboard sunburst fans, a rounded section at one corner of the house and other architectural features. New asphalt shingles were installed on the two gables. An exterior door and 6 Andersen windows. 2 of which required brand new wall cuts and new window frames. Cariano Construction Co. also installed a new composite porch deck and wood railing system.

It went over original quote and past original deadline. The costs increased due to a different type of insulation that inspector required vs the one originally quoted. I think that could have been forecasted. But other than that, the job was done well.
Description of Work: We had our attic refinished + installed sky-lite.

Joel had worked on a friend's porch, so I had seen his work before we hired him. His quote was very reasonable, keeping the work, as he put it, to a and quot;dull roarand quot; to get the job done. We aren't sure what we want to do with the three season porch in the long term, so his work on it was a good interim solution. His team showed up on time and worked diligently to get the job done in under a week. They did have a problem with the first try putting the rubber roof down, so Joel had them do it over, and let me know to call him if I ever had a problem with his work down the road. The awning over the back steps was completely rebuilt and looks great. He was great to work with; very direct and clear.
Description of Work: Replacement of rotten soffit, fascia, and parts of a column on the exterior of a three season porch, replacement of wooden gutters around the three season porch, installation of a new rubber roof on the porch, and complete rebuild of small porch/awning over back steps.

He is great. He is very responsive and very responsible. He is very patient and did exactly what I wanted; so I didn't have to argue with him about the way I wanted my house to be. I actually didn't shop around; I just wanted someone who was good. I would definitely work with them in the future.
Description of Work: I used Cariano Construction Company for replacing our roof, putting a front canopy on our house and fixing a door, about a month and a half ago. They also took care of a window well.
Their quote was for $4000. I deal with Joel who owns the company. He is very professional and very knowledgeable. They all are very responsive.
Description of Work: Cariano Construction Company Inc gave me a quote in January for getting new windows, fixing the damage due to the leak in a couple of rooms, and do some repair on the wall, where the leaks are.

They were very good. We were very happy with them. We call them all the time. I like the way that they would give us a bunch of options as to what we wanted to do. They would tell us the pros and cons of various things. Basically they tell us if we choose an option what could happen. They did kind of walk us through it and they didn't pressurize us to do it at that moment. They had done a thorough job. They did things in a certain way so that it would last rather than the cheapest quickest way. I haven't compared their prices. They were very responsive. They were punctual and were here every morning. I would use their services again in the future.
Description of Work: I used Cariano Construction Company Inc. I last used their services in January. They replaced the sill and installed the porch around the house. They replaced all our gutters. They fixed some problems that we'd had. They re-shingled and re-constructed the parts that had been spoilt due to water damage. They basically did water damage and repaired taps. They replaced three windows and did some drywall too.

Started off great. Outside work was done with good quality and focus. Very responsive and trustworthy. As time went on and work shifted to the interior things started to slow down and I had to always initiate communication which was always promptly and courteously returned mostly by email. Also, they would always meet with me if I requested but as job progressed I felt I had to drive the project. This was disappointing. Overall, quality of work outside was very good, Somewhat disappointed with interior quality and creativity regarding bathroom. I wanted a colonial looking bathroom as house is an old farm house from around mid 1800's. I wanted bead board with chair rail and colonial casing with corner plinths. Came home and trim work installed was very plain. He should have reviewed with me whatthey were going to install. I went out and bought samples of what I wanted for a meeting. No issues regarding removing what they did and replacing with what I wanted. Bathroom took a long time. Seems as if plumber was gating resource. Everything was finally completed and we parted on good terms.
Description of Work: Exterior: replaced 10 new construction windows, completely resided one large side of house with cedar clapboards and trim, installed 2 new entry doors, repaired sill damaged by termites, replaced a basement window and installed 2 window wells, replaced 2 fiberglass columns, removed gutter and repaired area, R&R other clapboard on another side of the house, R&R entry deck and stairs. Interior: repaired beams and installed two support columns in basement damaged by termites, repaired some termite damage at basement entry and sheet rocked area, fully gutted and replaced a small bathroom, new trim to all 10 new construction windows, repaired damage to some interior walls.

I was making multiple updates to my house and was on a tight timeline to get it all completed in time for a scheduled home appraisal. The mason who was already working at my house recommended Joel, having seen and been impressed with his work. Joel was very responsive. In most cases, he answered every time I called (and I called him a LOT) but if he couldn't, he always called me back quickly. He came out to talk about my job right away and when I explained that I was deciding between two different designs for the front of my house (one larger job and one smaller job), he was happy to provide estimates on both. Joel's couldn't start his work until the mason finished his portion. That, coupled with my tight deadline and some rain delay, meant a lot of coordination between Joel, the mason, and the painter who was scheduled to start after them. Joel took it on himself to make multiple calls to both and scheduled around them when necessary. The work was done by Joel and Charlie, who were both great to work with. Charlie showed up early each morning, got a ton done each day, and kept the worksite neat. They both really know what they were doing. The quality of their work and the final product was even better than I had hoped for. I am so happy when I drive up to my house now! I am already planning to use Cariano Construction for another job and would recommed them to anyone.
Description of Work: Joel and Charlie added a peak over my entryway door, tying into my roofline, joining wooden pillars with newly installed stone pillars, installed railings, and reshingled a section of the house to match the rest of the house.

Joel was one of the best contractors we worked with; even though our bulkhead installation was a little trickier than we initially thought, he stood by his estimate. He also did a nice job repairing some rotted wood behind a set of brick front steps that had sunk about an inch. Joel had some great advice for us, and there are some other projects we'll probably do with him next year. Excellent quality and a fair price for the work.
