Woodmaster Tree Service are real professionals with a friendly, respectful crew and almost 40years of experience from their hands-on owner Bob Woods. They were on time, on budget, completed all work requested within 6hours with no breaks.

They would consult with me on each tree to ensure it was trimmed to satisfaction. They took precautions to limit any lawn damage due to the heavy equipment brought in. Their clean-up was tidy and even used a blower to clean off my roof and deck when complete.
I would definitely recommend this team to anyone requiring tree service. I'll also mention that they're probably one of lowest cost options as well.

Came within the time frame given; Very professional. Used a 'vaccum' to suck up wood debris.

Took approximately 1 hour to take down 40+ foot maple tree.

Mr. Wood came the next morning and took all the wood.

We plan on using them next year to take down another tree.

Bob came by to look at what we needed done on May 26th. At first I was only going to prune the pine, but when I mentioned we intend to widen our driveway, he suggested I remove it since pines are notoriously messy on cars. Which I knew he was right about, but I don't have much left for decent trees. So he gave a price for everything w/ just pruning it ($850); and said to add on $250 if I decided to remove it. I called him on the 31st and told him we were a go and yes take the pine. He called on the morning of the 2nd to let me know they'd be out that afternoon. They used a crane which had to come onto the lawn, but I was asked beforehand if it was okay (Twice. Once when Bob priced the job and again before they started). In my case I tried to plan for this intelligently, by not finishing off my lawn knowing that I had more tree work coming; but folks should beware that a crane on your lawn will make indentations. The crew arrived a bit earlier than Bob, and the guys went over with me what was to be done to be sure. They needed to peel back some of my wire fencing that surrounds my garden to accommodate the crane, and asked beforehand if that was okay and also did I have anything planted in there yet? (Which luckily I didn't) Anyhow, all work was done to my satisfaction. I was happy that they were concerned and careful about not wanting to damage any of my plantings and worked around flower beds, etc. I pretty much watched the whole operation, which took a little over 3 hours. They had me come take a look at the maple to be sure it was pruned to my liking. They cleaned up pretty well. Bob went out of his way to set me up with a stump grinding service. Bob is good guy, as are the rest of the crew he had with him. We don't have a firepit or fireplace so he has made arrangements for the wood to be removed. As with ANY service you employ, I would say just be very clear about what you want. I find Woodmaster to be very accommodating. I also have to say that I found the cost to be very reasonable. I have heard what other people have paid to have trees removed and it can be really expensive.

Note: *We used Woodmaster (I think it was in fall of 2008) to remove 3 pretty large trees and I believe we paid $2100 at that time. We were happy with the experience, which is why I dug out his business card and we called him again.

They removed the huge tree within a week of our contracting them to do so. They left a message the night before requesting payment in cash the next morning which made us uncomfortable so we did not comply stating that the payment (check) would be given upon completion. They removed the tree efficiently but failed to respect our property. The workers left gas powered equipment on our lawn which burned the grass and huge tree trunk pieces on our neighbor's yard which left deep dents throughout the yard. They did come to lay soil and seed to patch the dents. When they returned to grind the stump a few days later they left a huge pile of wood shavings which masked the fact that most of the stump was at or above ground level. They also left branches hanging in adjacent trees. This was a project in conjunction with a neighbor and the neighbor paid the remaining balance without a final inspection. We had also agreed that they would return later that week to do a separate project and they never showed up.

It went well overall. I had requested that I be able to keep any Maple limbs over 5 inches in diameter and all of the larger wood since I use a wood stove. Unfortunately I must not have been emphatic enough about the smaller wood because all that was left were branches of 10" or larger and the trunk parts of the tree. The work was performed on the day scheduled. It took about 4 hours.
