+ -1 moreDave's work was awesome. He helped us select the products to use and gave excellent guidance. He was here promptly throughout the project, worked diligently and always cleaned up the yard before leaving. Dave was a pleasure to work with. His recommendations for size, design, and color were the best and he worked collaboratively with the town inspector to ensure everything went smoothly. There were no surprises and he stayed on time, on track and on budget. Can't wait to have an opportunity to work with him again.
Description of Work: Dave Sexton removed two old porches and replaced them with new porches and railing. In the course of the project, Dave had to replace rotting wood on the house including shingling. He replaced all the wood and shingles perfectly. In addition he brought in an electrician to ad needed outdoor outlets and covers. He also referred us to an excellent landscape/ stonework company to replace the back walkway by the porches.

+ 1 moreA serious black mold problem had resulted in having to to strip the entire rear wall of one bedroom in our condo. Dave Sexton returned my call and came for an estimate in a timely manner. He was very professional and clearly explaned what he would do. He was also straigt forward in explaining that it would be 3 1/2 weeks before he could get the job. He got an estimate back to the next day. He called me when he said he would to confirm the starting date and should with his crew on time. He had separate crews the insulation, green boardand plastering, carpentry (Dave did this) and painting. Each cleaned up after themselves and Dave called to check on the days he wasn't there to check on the work done. I was very satisfied and would use Sexbuilders again.
Description of Work: Rebuilt wall that had been stripped to brick to mediate mold problem 1.supplied & installed icynene foam on outer wall, 2.suppled & installed blue board on outer wall 3. Plaster complete outer wall 4.supply & install trim on both windows to match existing 1.Supply & install icynene spray foam insulation on outer wall 1..Supply & install 1. .Supply & install 1. Su.Supply & install 1. Supply& install spay foam insulation on the outer wall 2..Supply & install blue board on outer wall Supply& intall icynene foam insulation and blue board on outer wall. Plaster outer wall. Supply and intall window trim to match the existing. Prime wall ready to paint. Seal & stain all newly installed woodwork to match existing, re-install heating covers. Remove all trash and clean up

+ 3 moreThey were very responsive and took time to listen to what we wanted. Other contractors just wanted to build a prefab type of enclosed deck/porch. Sexton was very neat. When they could not come and work they made sure to let me know. The quality and workmanship was very good.

+ 4 moreDave came over to the house, made some measurements and we talked about what we wanted. He had asked us to pull some magazine shots and color samples for the look we were going for. He had several good vendors for cabinets and we narrowed it down based on pricing. He helped us bump up the look of our trim by doing some beautiful crown moulding and trimwork to give everything a custom look. He and his assistant were very focused during their working hours and left the area cleaned up every day. Dave was in the Marines and you can tell from his work ethic. If you are looking for an excellent and creative craftsmen who takes pride in his work and does things right then you will be glad you called him.
Description of Work: Dave Sexton was able to help us rework our kitchen by adding additional cabinetry and making some great suggestions for using every bit of space. He is an extremely good carpenter and has a very good eye for detail. He had several other large scale renovations going on at the time and still made us feel like our project was really important to him. We are thrilled with the result and it looks like it cost much more than what we spent. We have some other projects planned around the house, bathroom remodel, fireplace and built in shelving and a deck-down the road. Now that we have found him, recommended by a friend, we feel like we can just call him for any type of building projects.
