MA Licensed deleaders and certified mold remediators providing full deleading, interim control compliance & mold abatement. Window replacements, finish carpentry, painting and any remodeling needs also offered.
Northeast Remediation performed deleading on my home, involving replacement of windows and the garage door. The house passed re-inspection for full compliance as soon as they were finished. The only issue was that they had problems getting one of their suppliers to provide a custom sized replacement garage door in a timely manner. This delayed fully completing the job by about a month while they found a different supplier. However, they were generally very responsive with communication and the work quality was good so I would not hesitate to use them again.

We hired Northeast for a very big and expensive job. Their quote was 10% higher than another one and yet we hired them anyway because they put on a good show. That ended as soon as the project started. They were behind schedule almost from day 1. Despite the fact that they reassured us they would work over time and weekends to finish on time (we had tenants moving in), they did not get a proper permit for weekend work, claiming that they didn't know they needed it and were ordered to stop by the city. As a result, they were 1 week behind schedule on a 2 week job. Even more concerning, they lied to us repeatedly about their progress although the on-site carpenters told us otherwise. One of their head people also convinced us to allow them to take a dangerous and foolhardy shortcut that cost us roughly $4,000 extra in electrical work as well as $3,000 in extra painting since the electrician had to cut extra holes in the walls. When we presented them with the bill, they didn't even offer us a token bit of compensation although we paid them almost $60,000. Frankly, an apology would have been worth more. They also did not insulate our windows or notify us in time to meaningfully address the issue when the original window framing we meant to retain was in worse condition than they expected once the storm windows were removed. They offered to do a patch up job at first but ultimately refused to fix them at all even though you could see straight through to the inside of the house from a couple gaps between the window and frame and other window frames were unsightly and uneven. What is truly sad is their carpenters and on-site crew were good and honest people and did some high quality work and we could have been very satisfied customers if they communicated better but the top of the organization is young and inexperienced and cares little for customer satisfaction. And beware if they touch your electrical system at all since they know nothing about it and aren't licensed anyway.

The work was excellent, including the scraping, painting and carpentry work. The crew was thorough, pleasant to work with and very responsive to our questions and concerns. They came out several times to make sure all the old lead paint chips were removed. I️ highly recommend Northeast Remediation.
Description of Work: We had all of the woodwork scraped and painted on the exterior of our house and carriage house. The house and carriage house is over 100 years old and there was extensive peeling of lead paint with areas of rotten wood.

I had my whole apartment deleaded and these guys did a great job. They responded very fast, and made sure that everything was done to my satisfaction. My home is nearly a 100 years old and all the windows (20+) had lead in them. They gave the best price for window replacement and even beat window professionals at it as well

Northeast didn't come in as the cheapest quote, but I went with them because 1) they weren't massively more expensive 2) they were communicative and responsive and 3) the quote and scope of work were both incredibly detailed, so I knew exactly what was being done and why. A very professional outfit all around, and since our project was small (just some window trim and a door) I was willing to pay more to get the work done quickly and well. The post-work cleanup was top notch -- our inspector said he had never seen a home cleaned to that degree.

Taylor D. from the office was wonderful. The communication was excellent using the internet for any and all concerns and keeping me up to date. The inspection and crew were on time and very clean. Sent a carpenter to remove the front door and reinstall it so that it now works better than ever. They responded when others didn't. I will recommend them to everyone who needs de-leading

NorthEast Remediation was very professional in the way they worked with me and on my home. They were prompt, started their work on time, and although there were delays, they did their best to complete the work as quickly as possible. Due to the unexpected technical difficulty of removing the lead paint from my particular wooden casings, completion was delayed by one week. As soon as the wood was back from the lead stripper's shop, they had it all installed in one day. After installation, I wanted some changes made to the windowsills that were installed. They were there at my earliest convenience to make it the way I wanted. I would use them again and recommend to anyone who needs deleading.

Overall we were very pleased with the service provided by Taylor and the team at Northeast Remediation. Taylor was extremely responsive to both phone calls and emails, in marked contrast to some other people we contacted. Our job was very small for a deleading job, and most people weren't interested or told us it would be a couple of months. Since we wanted to get a lease signed, we wanted the work done immediately. Taylor had the worker come out two days from when I called. He scraped and replaced the offending window sill. It took about an hour. The one negative aspect involved the cleaning. Taylor quoted a very high price for cleaning, up to $2000, for cleaning the interior of house plus the sill, which didn't make any sense to us since there wasn't going to be any work done inside the house. As a result, when the inspector came he said there was dust on the windowsill and it wouldn't pass and he called the worker to come back and clean the windowsill. It seemed a little ridiculous to us that the worker would scrape the windowsill and put a new one on but would not do 10 minutes of Windexing after to be sure that the area where he did the work was clean. In any event, he did come back and clean it at the inspector's behest, and there was no charge. But the inspector charged us $100 to come out twice. We passed the inspection so we are overall happy with everything.

Although the replacement of the front door was fairly expensive Northeast Remediation did not spend any money before consulting with us (I really appreciated that). The new front door looks great although I wish they had told me that the new wood on the inside surrounding the door would be unpainted. They were very professional and always communicative. Additionally, they let us pick out/buy the exact door we wanted from Home Depot and they just went and picked it up. Overall, it was a very good experience working with Northeast Remediation and I would highly recommend them to others.

From the initial consult through to the completion of the project, the folks at NE Remediation were extremely professional, courteous and prompt in their communications. The project was completed on time. Even though they forgot to do a few very minor things (reattach a few handles, window treatments, etc), they quickly came out once notified to make sure everything was completed, which we appreciated. While we did receive a number of quotes that were less than what we ended up paying (hence the B score), we decided to go with a more reputable company. We were happy with the choice.

I contacted Northeast Remediation on a Thursday afternoon. By Friday morning I already had the estimate in hand. Lars from Northeast Remediation beat me to the property and I was a bit early to the appointment. I experienced prompt, professional service at every point of contact. Lars was thorough and reassuring, and at no time did I feel like he was trying to sell me on any extra services, he was providing his honest, expert opinion. Northeast remediation came out at short notice and gave me peace of mind. I will definitely be using them in the future.

In my experience, Northeast Remediation is in a league of their own when it comes to professionalism, quality, care, thoughtfulness, and caring about their customers. They are exceptional. We checked with several companies before choosing Northeast Remediation and we were simply blown away by the difference, even starting with the promptness and professionalism of the receptionist who made our appointments. We had a very big, very complex de-leading problem in our home, and the CEO, Bryan Ganz, and COO, Scott Silver, could not possibly have been more patient, conscientious, creative, helpful, kind, and professional in guiding us through the entire project. We had to make decisions about how to de-lead four floors worth of window casings, doors, ballisters, window frames, windows, door frames, base-boards, and more; it was quite overwhelming at first, and the first de-leading company we called had made me feel even more confused and overwhelmed after the walk-through. In contrast, Bryan and Scott spent hours with my husband and me carefully discussing the pros and cons of the encapsulation, scraping, dipping, and replacement methods for each area in our house -- each piece of wood even -- taking into consideration the historical value of each piece, as well as the differing costs of each de-leading option. Ultimately, they came up with a very detailed and thorough proposal explaining exactly how each piece would be de-leaded, summarizing each process, and delineating all the costs. I honestly could not have imagined a better team to trust with our home. During the de-leading process, they kept us abreast of all developments with photos and e-mails (without our prompting), helping us to feel comfortable and up-to-date. They also went out of their way to take care of the snow issues that arose during the record-breaking winter we just had, and to ensure that our neighbors were not disrupted by their workers and vehicles. We are now happily back in our home, feeling safe and secure knowing that our baby is not exposed to lead paint, and I am enthusiastically recommending Northeast Remediation to all my neighbors. If you want a top-notch de-leading company with an exceedingly professional, honest, and kind CEO and COO, who will truly care about your project and your home, call Northeast Remediation. They are the best of the best.
Description of Work: We worked with Bryan Ganz and the entire team at Northeast Remediation to develop a strategy for de-leading our four-story townhouse that was built in 1860. We have a small child and were very concerned about the existence of lead paint throughout the house, on the doors, windows, casings, baseboards, stairs, etc. Northeast Remediation put together a strategy to preserve the historical integrity of our home, while also ensuring that it was safe for our family and that the process was not prohibitively expensive.

NER did an excellent job -- they were responsive and professional, they finished on time, and the quality of the work was excellent. We deleaded a 700 square foot apartment. We got 3 estimates for the work. NER was the most expensive by about 20%, but their work included painting, which the others did not, and they were far and away the most responsive and reliable. We had a tight timeframe, and NER kept to it, which was critical. There were a few very small open items left after work was complete -- outlet cover left off, uninstalled blind -- and NER returned first thing the next morning and addressed all of them. NER actually went above and beyond the SOW to ensure we passed inspection. They also fixed other issues as they worked -- adding more insulation around the windows, fixing a broken door hinge, etc. -- for no extra charge. We were extremely happy with NER's work and would definitely recommend them.

Lead testing indicated that our primary residence had lead throughout. Windows, doors, closet doors, baseboards all tested positive for lead. The home was built in the 1800's and there was concern that we could not find a certified de-leader to maintain the character of the house while de-leading. I had been cautioned that certified de-leaders are able to de-lead but not able to do quality construction or finish work. There was no way we would have considered using luan or vinyl just to cover up the problem. NER was the third or fourth contractor who visited our home. From the moment we began working with NER it was clear that they understood the importance of de-leading while maintaining the character of an old home. In our home, there were old moldings, baseboards and doors that needed to be removed and replaced. NER promised to take the time to match the old moldings and baseboards and they delivered. NER ordered special closet doors to fit the tiny closet openings from our old home. The doors look great. Albie Cail was our project manager. He searched high and low for hardware for the new doors that would match our old home. He did an excellent job. NER was on-time and on-budget from the initial consultation through the finished job. There were areas where NER did more than required to insure that the house looked great when finished. For example, on our exterior windows, they scraped the entire trim around the windows even though they are only required to go up to 5 or 6 feet to obtain lead compliance. They also did more interior painting than we had expected (we changed many old elements in the home that were a dark brown to a white which required several coats of paint -- they also painted many brown elements that did not require de-leading just so they would match the brown to white changeover). We thought that the price was fair considering the scope of the work that needed to be done (not too high and not artificially low). NER was able to help us obtain financing for the project through a third-party lender. The cost included all replacement windows and doors, replacement moldings, etc. The closet doors ended up being special order items that cost more than NER expected. Nonetheless, NER stuck to its price. We knew that with our old home, there would be surprises. No matter what happened, NER stuck to its price and delivered. Any problems that arose were handled immediately and professionally. All calls and questions were answered promptly. The entire project took about 4 weeks.

We are extremely impressed with the professionalism, the quality of work, and the timeliness of David and his crew. I had called three companies to get estimates; they were all in the same general ballpark. However, David included more service for the same price: instead of scraping the door jambs up to the required 5 ft, he scraped then all the way to the top; instead of scraping the corners of the stringers 4 inches from each edge, he scraped them entirely. One of the other places that gave us an estimate is extremely popular on Angie's list and I know why: they were also extremely professional and it is clear that they do very good work - but they were much less flexible. Of the three contractors that I called, David was the one who returned my calls most promptly, came most quickly for the estimate, and was able to do the work the soonest. We passed the inspection with no troubles, and I would recommend David and his crew without reservation. We feel very grateful to him for making this first stage of home ownership so smooth and easy!

I would highly recommend Dave and his crew for any deleading project. They were in our house 7 weeks doing a complete deleading as well as repainting several rooms, replacing ceilings and doors, and doing some other unrelated carpentry work. First of all, Dave is really responsive. We have worked with a lot of contractors in the course of owning our house, and I have to say he was the most responsive and easiest to get in touch with of anyone else we've worked with. He always called back same day and was very patient and responsive with dealing with whatever our concerns were. He also provided very detailed, clear quotes for the job. We were very picky about what needed to be done, and added a lot of "extras" that went above and beyond the deleading process required by the state (for example, we wanted all of our door hinges scraped, all of our doors and the woodwork along the stairs completely scraped, some particular detail work in our pantries, all the window sills in the house replaced, etc). Our quote ended up being about 4-5 pages long with all the individual line items, and he was very patient, and made sure we included everything, he was clear on the job, and we were happy with the work as it went along. Some things did change as the project went along and he was responsive about dealing with this, and helping us make decisions as the project progressed. As for the work itself, we are back in the house now and everything looks great. I think these guys are particularly skilled with the carpentry work and finishes - they replaced all the door sills and window sills and the wood frame around the windows in our house, and everything looks like new - better, frankly, than it looked before. I was particularly impressed b/c they had to fit the new sills and wood into the old plaster walls and there is no hint that they did any damage anywhere. I also noticed that they went above and beyond and fixed some things that were not part of the job specs but really made the job done "right" - such as, we asked them to install a new back door, and they did this as well as putting in a new door sill and fixing the floor on the inside around the area so it would be tight (this is hard to describe, but it was detail work that went above and beyond). They also did not complain when the initial jobs they quoted for became much harder/more labor intensive than expected at the beginning. One piece of the job was that they were going to scrape/repaint our LR and DR ceilings, and they ended up having to take down all the ceiling beams and replace the whole ceilings, rather that just scrape and repaint. It was much more work than they originally thought, but they did it, with no complaints, and it looks great. My one complaint is that I did notice some painting of the trim that was slightly sloppy. I told Dave and he came back in person with his guys the next day to fix the areas we indicated. Also, the project took much longer than expected. I don't really blame them for this - there were some unforeseen circumstances that no one could control that led to delay, and some areas of the project just took longer than we thought. All in all, it was a very positive experience for us and we would very much recommend this company. Dave and his crew were also very respectful to our neighbors, which is important because we share a driveway and space is tight around the house.
Description of Work: Deleaded our entire house, and also did some other carpentry/painting work while they were in there that was unrelated to the deleading.

David Eastman and his crew (Arnold, Arthur, Rob and Nick) did an amazing job of deleading the home and bringing her back to her former glory. As each deleading job is different, the process for deleading my home involved putting (2) layers of 6 mil plastic sheeting and building a decontamination chamber, installing 25 double-hung windows, removing a set a drawers, removing a closet, removing the stair balusters and having them dipped offsite and then reinstalled, scraping and sanding to bare wood the following: other stair components, window casings, sills, stops, doorjambs, door casings, mantel, closet shelves and supports. Dip all doors off site then reinstall. Remove kitchen ceiling. Cut out positive wall corners then reinstall sheetrock, tape and mud paint ready. Stain all bare wood and paint outside wall corners after the reinspection. Clean by means of HEPA vacuuming and washing down with TSP to get ready for dust wipe samples. Enviro-Tec was punctual, professional, and worked 6 days a week to get the project done. I couldn't have hired a better team of professionals to remove the lead paint from my home. I would highly recommend Enviro-Tec (and I do to anyone I speak to about the deleading of my home).
Description of Work: I hired Enviro-Tec to delead my 1745 antique cape that I purchased on 1/31/13. Every room in the home had lead paint that needed to be removed as well as replacing all the windows in the home. What I appreciated most about Enviro-Tech is that David Eastman, the owner, explained the deleading process in terms that were understandable and he answered any questions that I had along the way. He listened to what my vision for the home was (to restore her to her original style - to celebrate her history) and he and his crew did everything in their power to help me accomplish that. They did a phenominal job and I am truly grateful for all their time, dedication and hard work.

Dealing with Dave Eastman was a very good experience. Right from the start, he was very professional. He returned phone calls promptly, listened to my concerns, explained the project in detail, and gave us written estimates quickly. I looked at the containment area (deleading chamber) and all the surrounding areas to make sure that everything was protected as Dave promised, and I was very happy that he did everything exactly the way he said he would. Dave contacted me during the cleanup, and met with my husband after the cleanup was done. We had a lead inspector check the work by taking dust wipe samples in many areas in and outside of the work area (more than are usually done). Every area passed the wipes testing, with numbers even better than expected. When I arrived home and went into the attic, I couldn't beleive how clean it was. The access room as spotless, and all the other areas of the home were clean as well. My husband and I have two small children and I was extremely upset when I realized that lead paint dust entered our home. I was very nervous about the attic cleanup. Now, I couldn't be more relieved. I would highly recommend Dave Eastman, and truly appreciate all the hard work he and his men did.
Description of Work: Dave Eastman and his crew deleaded our attic after some exterior paint contractor caused lead paint dust to enter the space. Dave and his crew first covered many areas of our home, and built a deleading chamber. Then they removed our insulation, cleaned household items that were in the attic, removed and cleaned the floor boards, cleaned all the other areas, and then encapsulated all the exposed surfaces with a polyurethane type product. When they were done deleading, they did a thorough cleaning of the attic, the room from which the attic was accessed and other areas that they went through during this project.

From the time I called EnviroTech for the estimate until the time they finished the job they were professional, punctual, and expert in their work. The bid they gave me was the best I received. They worked quickly and efficiently. They never inconvenienced myself or any of my tenants. I can say that they were the most conscientious contracts I have ever used and I have been in the rental business for the last 10 years. The workmen were quiet, showed up on time, and were careful not to disturb the landscaping or any part of the house they were not working on. Any questions or concerns that I had were responded to immediately and to my great satisfaction. Even though they specialize on lead abatement the work they did in painting and carpentry was better than most specialists in those fields. Also they finished the job about 2 weeks ahead of schedule and slightly under budget. If I ever have the need to delead again I would call this company without reservation. They are a pleasure to work with. I can not think of any qay they could have made this a better experience for me.

By the time the project was done we looked like we had a new house. Dave and his staff were always on time, super polite and Dave always checked in with me on his progress. (We weren't yet living in the house at the time). I appreciated Dave checking in with me often as it was a huge project and decisions needed to be made along the way. Dave never assumed things were to be done a certain way. Dave also stuck to the project, he showed up every day until the project was complete. This was a huge bonus as we were between houses and time was really important as we had a 2 year old to get situated. He also made suggestions on a sunroom that needed all new windows, he suggested sliders which I would never had considered and the room looked like a new room once it was done. Dave is an honest hard working guy and I would hire him and his staff in a minute.
